The troops martyred the youth during a siege and search operation in Tral area of the district. Troops also blasted a residential house in the area. »

Four youth used as human shield by Indian Army

Srinagar, June 19 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown was observed in Kulgam district, today, against the killing of a civilian, Ajaz Ahmad Butt, in firing by the Indian troops on protesters in the district, yesterday.

All shops and other commercial establishments were closed while traffic was off the road in Kulgam and adjoining areas. Mobile Internet and train services were suspended in South Kashmir following the killing of the youth, last evening.

The Joint Resistance Leadership in a statement issued in Srinagar called for a complete shutdown on Thursday against the unabated killings by the Indian forces in Kashmir. The leadership said that the territory had witnessed three deaths of young boys since the Eid day. »

Srinagar, Jun 19 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Grand Mufti, Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam was arrested by the Indian police in Sanagam area of South Kashmir, today, when he was on his way to Islamabad town to commemorate the death anniversary of renowned religious scholar Qazi Nisar.

Grand Mufti along with a team was stopped by the police and later shifted to Sangam police station.

“I had to attend the martyrdom anniversary of Qazi Nisar,” he said. »

Geneva, June 19 (KMS): A Kashmiri delegation met Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, and thanked him for his historic role in the release of the first-ever UN report on Kashmir.

The report reaffirmed the international status of Kashmir as a disputed territory and censured India for serious human rights violations in the Valley. »

Srinagar, June 19 (KMS): Welcoming the recent report released by UNHRC which exposes grave human rights’ violations by the Indian forces in occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Muslim Conference, Shabbir Ahmed Dar has said that the report manifests the realization of the fluid situation prevailing in the territory.

Shabbir Ahmad Dar in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the report had exposed the hollow claims of India to be a big democracy in the world. “The world must now rise above the occasion and send a fact finding mission to get first hand information of Kashmir,” he said and asked the international community to persuade India to honour its commitments to the people of Kashmir by ensuring the smooth implementation of the United Nations resolutions on Kashmir. »

Srinagar, June 19 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the 89-year-old Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani, was barred by the Indian authorities from offering congregational Eid prayers for the 17th consecutive year on this Eidul Fitr.

An APHC spokesman in a statement in Srinagar said that it was for the 17th consecutive year that Gilani was not allowed to offer congregational Eid prayers. He said that since 2010, the occupation authorities had kept him under house arrest. »
