World urged to take note of Indian brutalities in IOK

Srinagar, June 22 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the 55th Founding Day ceremony of Awami Action Committee was held with Hurriyat Forum Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in chair at Rajouri Kadal in Srinagar, today, with the renewal of the pledge to continue the freedom struggle till complete success.

A large number of the office bearers of the organization participated in the function.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, addressing the ceremony appealed to the international community to take cognizance of the Indian brutalities on the people of the occupied territory and take steps towards settlement of the lingering Kashmir dispute.

He urged the party activists to maintain unity among their ranks to frustrate against the evil designs of enemies. He said that the shift of power or imposition of Governor’s Rule could not affect the disputed status of Kashmir and the people of Kashmir would continue their liberation movement till it reached its logical conclusion.

The Mirwaiz said that India wanted to suppress the ongoing liberation movement and weaken the freedom sentiment of the people of Kashmir especially the youth through military might but it would never succeed in its sinister designs. He said India is pushing the Kashmiri youth to the wall but the brutal tactics would not prevent them from carrying forward their struggle for securing their right to self-determination.

He also condemned the arrest spree and detention of Hurriyat leaders and activists and paid tributes to the youth martyred by the Indian troops during cordon and search operations and expressed solidarity with their families.
