Youth hit by bullets critical at Soura hospital » Kashmir Media Service

Srinagar, June 23 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, an 18-year-old youth, who was injured in the firing of Indian troops in Srigufwara area of Islamabad on Friday, is battling for life at Soura Institute of Medical Sciences in Srinagar.

A doctor at Soura hospital said that the youth, Shahid Nazir, was brought to the hospital from Bijbehara with a bullet injury in his head.

“We have operated upon him but his condition is not stable. He has been put on ventilator for life support,” said Medical Superintendent of Soura hospital, Dr Farooq A Jan.

He said that five other injured people were also admitted, two of whom have been operated upon. “All the injured are under observation,” he added.

Meanwhile the condition of a youth, Abdul Majeed, 24, of Soura, who was admitted to the Soura hospital with grievous pellet injuries last week, remains critical. The injuries had caused life threatening hemorrhages in his skull, said a doctor. He said that although he had been taken off the ventilator, his condition is not out of danger yet.
