Srinagar, June 24 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umer Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik has called for valley-wide shutdown tomorrow (Monday).

The leadership in a statement issued in  Srinagar said the shutdown has been called against continued civilian killings in the territory.

JRL demands international probe into Machil fake encounter

Srinagar, June 24 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism martyred three Kashmiri youth in Kulgam district, today.

The troops killed the youth during a cordon and search operation in Qaimoh area of the district. People took to the streets in the area and staged forceful demonstrations against the operation and subsequent killing of the youth. Indian police and troops fired teargas shells to disperse the protesters, triggering clashes between the demonstrators and the forces’ personnel. The operation and the clashes were going on in the area till reports last came in. The authorities have suspended mobile internet services in Kulgam and Islamabad districts. »

Shabbir Ahmed Dar visited the residences of Ghulam Jilani Sofi and Muhammad Siddiq Ganai in Sopore who were recently released from New Delhi’s Tihar jail after 8 years of illegal detention. »

Indian troops had killed three youth in a fake encounter on June 06, 2018.

The JRL expressed deep concern over the killing of three youth including Zahid Rashid (Kulgam) and termed it a very sensitive issue and a matter of concern for all. “The youth were brutally massacred and buried in mysterious circumstances. We feel the pain of separation and demand for their burials according to religious rituals. »

A senior official of Indian police claimed that the youth were militants and were killed in an encounter with the troops.

Srinagar, June 24 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, has said that despite the fact that the Government of India knows the Kashmir dispute in its entirety, it is doing nothing to resolve it.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in an interview in Srinagar said the issue here is not Hindu India versus Muslim Kashmir. Rather, it is a political issue which needs India, Pakistan and Kashmiri genuine leadership to come on the table of negotiations and settle it in accordance with the Kashmiris’ aspirations. »

Srinagar, June 24 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League (JKML) has expressed serious concern over the continued illegal detention of its Chairman, Masarrat Aalam Butt.

A JKML spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the occupation authorities were prolonging the detention of Masarrat Aalam Butt which showed their frustration. »

Lal Singh addressing a press conference in Jammu had said that Kashmiri journalists seemed to be waiting to be killed just as Shujaat Bukhari was. Shujaat Bukhari, Editor of daily Rising Kashmir, was killed along with his two security guards by unknown gunmen outside his office in Srinagar on June 14, 2018. »

Srinagar, June 24 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, journalists have strongly condemned the former so-called minister and BJP leader, Chaudhary Lal Singh’s threatening remarks made in context of the Kathua rape and murder.

Lal Singh who was earlier ousted from the so-called cabinet for rallying in support of the rapists and killers of Kathua minor girl, Aasifa Bano, addressing media persons in Jammu asked the Kashmiri journalists to mend their ways vis-à-vis reporting the case. He said that the Kashmiri journalists seemed to be waiting to be killed just as Shujaat Bukhari was. Shujaat was assassinated by unknown gunmen outside his office in Srinagar on June 14, 2018. »
