Srinagar, June 29 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, several people were injured, some of them critically, when Indian troops used brute force on peaceful protesters in Pulwama town, today.

People took to the streets at Chatpora in the town after the troops launched a cordon and search operation in adjacent Thamuna area. They marched towards Thamuna raising high-pitched pro-freedom and anti-India slogans.

The troops fired bullets, pellets and teargas shells to disperse the protesters, triggering clashes. Several people sustained injuries in the troops’ action. Some of the injured have been shifted to District Hospital Pulwama for the treatment.
