Srinagar, June 26 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, clashes erupted between Indian troops and protesters in Hajin area of Bandipora district, today.

Scores of youth took to the streets against vandalizing of shops by a patrolling party of the Indian Army at main Hajin market in the district. The youth pelted the patrolling party of Indian army’s 13 Rashtriya Rifles with stones.

Locals said that the troops vandalized the shops and misbehaved with shopkeepers. »

New Delhi, June 25 (KMS): Amnesty International India and Human Rights Watch have called upon the Indian authorities to stop arresting Dalit rights activists.

Referring to the fear prevailing among people following arrests in connection with the Bhima Koregaon violence earlier this year, the Amnesty International said, “On June 6, Pune Police arrested five people including prominent Dalit activists Sudhir Dhawal and Rona Wilson, members of Committee for Release of Political Prisoners from Mumbai, Nagpur and Delhi for allegedly having Maoist links during its investigation into the Bhima Koregaon violence on January.” »

Srinagar, June 26 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the son of martyr, Ali Muhammad Mir, has appealed to the international community to deliver justice to the family against the ruthless killing of his father by the Indian Army-backed gunman, Papa Kishtwari, 22 years ago.

Ali Muhammad Mir was abducted and then killed by Ghulam Muhammad Lone alias Papa Kishtwari on June 26, 1996. The family awaits justice since then. »

New Delhi, June 26 (KMS): With the imposition of Governor’s Rule in occupied Kashmir, India is conspiring to further tighten the noose around Hurriyat leaders by framing different cases against them, said a media report quoting Indian officials.

The officials said that it would be done through coordinated action by the Delhi-based National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED). »

Erdoğan greeted over his victory in presidential elections

Srinagar, June 26 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, pro-freedom leaders including Syed Ali Gilani and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq have extended congratulations to Recep Tayyip Erdoğan after he emerged winner in the presidential elections in Turkey.

Anti-India strike cripples life in occupied Kashmir

Srinagar, June 25 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, around two hundred thousand people participated in the multiple rounds of the funeral of martyr Shakoor Ahmad Dar in Islamabad district, today.

Shakoor Dar was martyred by the Indian troops during a cordon and search operation in Qaimoh area of adjoining Kulgam district, yesterday. His funeral was held in a vast ground in Devsar area of the district. Three mujahideen surfaced on the occasion and offered a gun-salute to the martyred youth.

Normal life was crippled by the Valley-wide shutdown against the nonstop killing of civilians by the Indian forces in the territory. Call for the strike was given by the Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik. All shops, other business establishments and educational institutions were closed while traffic was off the road in Srinagar and other districts of the Valley. »

Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar, today, paid his heartfelt tributes to the youth, martyred by the Indian troops in Cheddar area of Kulgam district. While condemning the killing of civilians Shahid Nazir and Shakoor Ahmad Dar and showering of pellets over peaceful mourners, he said that Indian fascist rulers and army generals had virtually given their nod to army against innocent civilians and approved it as their state policy. »

New Delhi, June 25 (KMS): Illegally detained Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP), Shabbir Ahmad Shah has said that the change of guard in Kashmir does not matter because faces are being changed by New Delhi after intervals.

Shabbir Ahmad Shah in a statement issued from New Delhi’s Tihar jail said that the people of Kashmir were continuously deprived of their right to self-determination as guaranteed to them by the world community. He said New Delhi has been using Sheikhs, Bakhshis, Sadiqs, Qasims, Abdullahs and Muftis to hoodwink people so if some new face emerges in future that should not surprise the people. »
