Srinagar, June 25 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, tens of thousands of people participated in the multiple rounds of funeral of martyr Shakoor Ahmad Dar in Islamabad district, today.

Around six rounds of the funeral were held for the martyr in a vast ground at Sopat-Tangpora in Devsar area of the district. The ground could hold over thirty thousand people at a time. »

United Nations, Geneva, June 25 (KMS): Kashmiri woman leader Shamim Shawl joined two members of European Parliament to raise the case of gang rape and murder of the eight-year-old Kashmiri girl Asifa at the United Nations.

This was one of the largest side-events during the 38th session of UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) and saw extensive discussion on Asifa’s case and on Kashmir, as the conflict now tops the humanitarian agenda of the Council, thanks to the first-ever UN report on Kashmir issued by UN High Commissioner. »

Srinagar, June 25 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, an 11th class boy was injured after Indian troops opened fire on protesters in north Kashmir’s Nadihal area of Rafiabad on Monday.

The boy was identified as Ubaid Manzoor son of Manzoor Ahmad and the incident happened on Baramula-Kupwara road. Witnesses said that Central Reserve Police force personnel fired without any provocation on protesting youth. »

Srinagar, June 25 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the High Court Bar Association (HCBA) has condemned the member of so-called Kashmir Assembly from Hindu extremist Bharatiya Janata Party, Lal Singh, for making threatening remarks against Kashmiri journalists over highlighting the gruesome rape and murder of an eight-year-old Muslim girl, Aasifa, from Kathua district in Jammu.

The HCBA in a statement issued in Srinagar termed the remarks as an act of criminal intimidation, and demanded that the said MLA should be arrested and put behind bars for his obnoxious and irresponsible statement. »

Srinagar, June 25 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the incarcerated Chairman of Ummat-e-Islami, Qazi Yasir while expressing anger over bloodshed in South Kashmir has said that the Indian forces are conducting a steady genocide, especially in South Kashmir.

Qazi Yasir in a statement said, unabated killings and inhumane behaviour goes unchecked in Kashmir; perhaps the forces have been planning this genocide every moment during the so-called ceasefire. »

Srinagar, June 25 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League (JKML) has expressed serious concern over the deteriorating health of illegally detained Dukhtaran-e-Millat Chairperson Aasiya Andrabi.

A JKML spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that everybody is aware that Aasiya Andrabi’s health condition is not well since long, adding that prolonging her illegal detention is nothing but a political vendetta which is the worst form of state terrorism. »
