Srinagar, July 09 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leader Mushtaq-ul-Islam has condemned the detention of resistance leaders, terming it as extremely unwise to deny political space and muzzle the genuine voices.

Mushtaq-ul-Islam in a statement issued in Srinagar expressed serious concern over the fresh arrest spree, night raids on Hurriyat leaders and activists, harassment of peaceful civilians and humiliation during night raids and crackdowns.

“Police during night raids are ransacking properties and humiliating inmates,” he said. “These unlawful and unethical restrictions will prove counterproductive and despite all odds we will pursue our mission for right to self-determination,” he reiterated.

Paying tributes to youth killed in Kulgam, the Mushtaq-ul-Islam said, “These brave hearts are laying their lives to end the age-old slavery”. He termed the killings as very unfortunate and said, “Indian forces under a well thought-out plan are carrying out bloodshed and are inflicting brutalities on civilians.”
