Thousands attend funeral of youth in Kupwara

Srinagar, July 12 (KMS): Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control and the world over will observe Kashmir Martyrs’ Day, tomorrow, as the day of reaffirmation of the pledge that they will continue the mission of their martyrs till the achievement of the inalienable right to self-determination.

The day will be marked by complete shutdown and a march towards Naqashband Sahib in Srinagar where martyrs of 1931 are buried. Call for the observance of the day has been given by the Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik. »

Srinagar, July 12 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, thousands of people, today, attended the funeral prayers of 20-year-old youth at Trehgam in Kupwara district.

The youth, Khalid Ghafar (20), son of Abdul Ghafar Malik was killed while another person suffered injuries after army opened fire on a group of protesters at Trehgam village on Wednesday evening. »

Srinagar, July 12 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders and organizations have condemned the killing of five youth including two teenage boys in the firing of Indian troops in Shopian and Baramulla districts.

A delegation of Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League (JKML) led by Mohammad Rafiq Ganaie visited Rawalpora and Wahal, Shopian, and expressed solidarity with the bereaved families. The delegation comprised Aadil Rasheed Khan, Manzoor Ahmad Lelhari and Manzoor Ahmad Khan. »

Srinagar, July 12 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has expressed shock and grief over the death of a 12-year-old child, Saliq Khursheed of Meemander, Shopian, and grave injuries to three other children in an explosion on Wednesday.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “Our children are not safe even while playing.” He said with each passing day Kashmiris pay the cost of the lingering dispute as the world looks on and there is little effort to put an end the tragedy that Kashmir has become. »

Srinagar, July 12 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the killing of yet another unarmed and innocent youth by Indian forces at Trehgam in Kupwara district has shocked the Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP).

A JKDFP spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said the party has termed the situation, arisen out of the unabated killings as alarming. »

Resistance leadership detained ahead of Srinagar march

Jammu, July 12 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown is being observed in Kishtwar and adjoining areas of Jammu region against the rise in civilian killings across the territory, particularly in the Kashmir Valley.

The strike is being observed on the call of Imam of Jamia Masjid, Kishtwar, Farooq Ahmad Kichloo, who is also the head of Muslim Shoura Committee, Kishtwar. »

Authorities impose curfew in Kupwara

Srinagar, July 12 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism, martyred one more youth in Kupwara district, today.

The youth was killed during the ongoing cordon and search operation by the Indian troops in Kandi area of the district.

An Indian army commando Sepoy Mukul Meena was killed and another was critically injured in an attack in the same area, yesterday. An Indian army officer told media men in Srinagar that the operation was going on. It was launched on Tuesday, the officer said. »
