Restrictions in Srinagar to prevent march

Srinagar, July 13 (KMS): Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control and the world over observed Kashmir Martyrs’ Day, today, as the day of renewal of the pledge that they will continue the mission of these martyrs till the achievement of the inalienable right to self-determination.

The day was marked by complete shutdown in occupied Kashmir call for which was given by the Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik.

The occupation authorities had imposed restrictions in Srinagar and Kupwara district and deployed Indian troops and police personnel in other major towns in strength to prevent people from conducting a march towards Naqashband Sahib in Srinagar where the martyrs of 13th July are buried. »

Islamabad, July 13 (KMS): Hurriyet leaders of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Chapter organised a condolence reference to mark the Kashmir Martyrs’ Day and pay tributes to the Kashmiris who sacrificed their lives on July 13, 1931.

The speakers in their speeches highlighting the sacrifices of martyrs of 1931 said that they had laid the foundation of liberation movement of Kashmir. They vowed to carry on the martyrs’ mission till complete success. »

United Nations, July 13 (KMS): The United Nations Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, today, hinted his support for the UN Human Rights chief’s call for an independent international investigation into the situation in occupied Kashmir, saying the Human Rights High Commissioner’s action represents the “voice of the UN” on the issue. »

Srinagar, July 13 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the authorities barred Friday prayers at Srinagar Jamia Masjid, today, by enforcing restrictions in old city parts to prevent a march called by the Joint Resistance Leadership to the martyrs’ graveyard at Naqashband Sahib.

The Hurriyat forum Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq taking to Twitter said that he tried to defy curfew but was arrested and stopped from paying tributes to July 13, 1931 martyrs killed by Dogra troops. »

Srinagar, July 13 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian police arrested the Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, in Srinagar, today, as he defied his house arrest and tried to conduct a march towards Martyrs’ Graveyard at Naqashband Sahib (RA) to pay tributes to the Kashmiri martyrs of July 13, 1931.

Call for the march was given by the Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik. »

Srinagar, July 13 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown is being observed, today, to mark the martyrdom anniversary of the 22 Kashmiris who were shot dead by the Indian Dogra Forces in Srinagar on this day in 1931.

Srinagar, July 13 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, thousands of people, today, participated in the funeral prayers of two martyred youth in Kulgam and Islamabad districts.

Indian troops had killed the youth, Zahid Rashid Butt of Braihad Yaripora area of Kulgam and Nissar Ahmed Butt of Krad Shangus area of Islamabad in a fake encounter in Machil area of Kupwara district. »

Srinagar, July 13 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, two troops of Indian Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) including an officer were killed while another soldier was injured in an attack in Islamabad district, today.

Unknown gunmen attacked a patrolling party of the CRPF in Achabal area of the district, resulting in the killing of two troops including an assistant sub-inspector ML Meena and injuring of another.

A shopkeeper Ghulam Rasool was also injured in the indiscriminate firing of Indian forces’ personnel after the attack. He was shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Srinagar, July 13 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders and organizations have paid rich tributes to the martyrs of July 13, 1931 and reiterated that the people of Kashmir will render every kind of sacrifice in their struggle for securing their birthright to self-determination.

It was on this day in 1931 when the troops of Dogra Maharaja had killed 22 Kashmiris, one after the other, outside the Central Jail in Srinagar during the court proceedings against one Abdul Qadeer who had asked the Kashmiri people to defy the Dogra rule. »
