Srinagar, July 19 (KMS): Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control and across the world observed the Accession to Pakistan Day, today, with a renewed pledge to continue the struggle for freedom from Indian occupation and complete merger of Jammu and Kashmir with Pakistan.

It was on this day in 1947 that the Kashmiris adopted a historic resolution from the platform of the All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference in Srinagar, demanding accession of Jammu and Kashmir to Pakistan in accordance with the Partition Plan, two-nation theory and the aspirations of the people of the territory. »

Srinagar, July 19 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism martyred one Kashmiri youth in Handwara town, today.

The troops killed the youth during a cordon and search operation in Batpora Magam area of the town. More details are awaited. »

Islamabad, July 19 (KMS): Former convener of All Parties Hurriyat Conference AJK-chapter and Vice President of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP), Mehmood Ahmed Saghar, has appreciated the UN Secretary General’s recent statement in which he had supported international investigation into human rights violations by Indian troops in occupied Kashmir.

Mehmood Ahmed Saghar in a statement issued in Islamabad said the assertion of the UN Chief is a positive development, which speaks volumes about growing concerns and realisation at global level about the situation in occupied Kashmir. »

Srinagar, July 19 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders have expressed deep grief over the death of illegally detained Hurriyat activist, Ghulam Hassan Malik alias Noor Khan.

Ghulam Hassan Malik, a resident of Uri area of Baramulla district, was arrested by the Indian police on January 22 this year and was booked under draconian law, Public Safety Act (PSA), on January 27 after which he was shifted to Kot Bhalwal Jail in Jammu. Ghulam Hassan fell ill in the jail a few days ago. On Monday, he complained of serious pain in his chest and was shifted to the GMC, Jammu. He breathed his last there on Tuesday afternoon. »

Srinagar, July 19 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has castigated the authorities for banning the transmission of 30 channels operating through cable.

The spokesman of Hurriyat forum in a statement issued in Srinagar said that dictation to cable operators to stop airing channels was nothing but a move to block information and keep people of Kashmir away from the day-to-day happenings across the globe. »
