Srinagar, July 27 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders have welcomed the statement of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman, Imran Khan that Kashmir is core issue between India and Pakistan and the two countries should resolve the Kashmir dispute through dialogue.
Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a tweet said, “We welcome the statement of PTI chief, Imran Khan
calling for resolution of Kashmir dispute through dialogue in view of huge human cost of this long standing dispute especially being borne by the people of Kashmir. Hope the two neighbors give real peace a chance.”
Senior APHC leader and the President of Anjuman Shari Shian, Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi, addressing a gathering in Budgam appreciated the remarks of Imran Khan. He, however, lamented that a section of Indian media was trying to create animosity between India and Pakistan.
The Chairman of Islamic Political Party, Muhammad Yousuf Naqash, addressing people at Hyderpora in Srinagar hailed the dialogue offer of Imran Khan to India for the resolution of Kashmir dispute and said the move signifies the urge for honourable and lasting solution of the dispute in accordance with the Kashmiris’ aspirations through meaningful and result-oriented dialogue.
Hurriyat leader, Javaid Ahmed Mir, addressing a gathering in Srinagar while welcoming the statement of the PTI Chairman said that dialogue between India and Pakistan was inevitable for resolution of outstanding issues including Kashmir dispute.
The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement, Zafar Akbar Butt, in a statement in Srinagar appreciating the remarks of Imran Khan said, “We expect he will focus on Kashmir and take bold steps to settle the lingering Kashmir dispute for ensuring permanent peace in the region.” He said, “It is time to resume dialogue process between Pakistan, India and the Kashmiri leadership in the greater interest of people of the region.”
Tehreek-e-Wahdat-e-Islami in a statement welcoming the assertion of Imran Khan hoped that the next government in Pakistan would also continue the country’s support to the Kashmir cause.
Meanwhile, the President of Jammu and Kashmir Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen, Maulana Abbas Ansari, in a statement in Srinagar congratulated all those elected in the general elections of Pakistan especially the PTI Chairman Imran Khan. He said that Pakistan had always supported the people of Kashmir in their struggle for securing their right to self-determination and expressed the hope that this support would continue on moral, political and diplomatic grounds.
