Srinagar, July 31 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Bar Association Islamabad district held a protest march in Islamabad town against efforts to abrogate Article 35-A.

Scores of the lawyers associated with Islamabad’s Bar Association assembled outside the district court complex and marched towards Lal Chowk in the town to register their protest.

The protest march was led by the Bar President, Fayaz Ahmed Saudagar. The lawyers were holding placards which read “Save Article 35-A, save our identity”, “We are committed to safeguard Article 35-A”.

Article 35-A of the Indian Constitution is an article that which grants special privileges and rights to the permanent residents of Jammu and Kashmir and debars non-Kashmiris from buying land or property, getting government jobs, or voting in the Assembly elections in the territory.
