Srinagar, July 31 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir Chairman, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai has denounced the raid by India’s National Investigation Agency on illegally detained Dukhtaran-e-Millat Chairperson, Aasiya Andrabi’s residence in Srinagar.

Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai in a statement issued in Srinagar said that India was using NIA as a political tool to intimidate the resistance leadership into submission. He deplored that India was resorting to nefarious tactics for the past one year to harass the leadership, and many leaders were arrested and shifted to Delhi’s notorious Tihar jail in fake cases.

Condemning the raid on the house of Aasiya Andrabi, he said now even womenfolk are not spared as Aasiya along with her two associates, Nahida Nasrin and Sofi Fehmida, has been lodged in a jail in Delhi far away from their motherland. He said that the children of DeM chief were suffering because Aasiya’s husband Dr Muhammad Qasim Fakhtoo was also languishing in jail.

Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai also condemned the booking of Hurriyat activist, Nasir Abdullah, under black law, Public Safety Act, and his shifting to Kot Bhalwal jail in Jammu. He demanded his immediate release.

The TeH chairman said that Kashmir was a political dispute as acknowledged by a number of UN resolutions and it could not be suppressed by detention of some people.
