Srinagar, July 31 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Jammu and Kashmir Mahaz-e-Azadi observed 26th martyrdom anniversary of its founding member Muhammad Maqbool Malik.

Fateha khawani was offered at a martyrs’ graveyard in Islamabad town and special prayers were offered for the eternal peace to the departed soul.

In this regard, a function was held, which was presided over by Muhammad Iqbal Mir. Various pro-freedom leaders and activists including Shabbir Ahmed Dar, Imtiyaz Ahmed Reshi, Mukhtar Ahmed Sofi, Zahid Bukhari, Khursheed Ahmed Mir, Nisar Ahmed Khan, Ghulam Mustafa and Muhammad Ishaq Ganai attended the function.

Muhammad Iqbal Mir paid glowing tributes to Maqbool Malik and said that he was a committed freedom zealot who struggled for Kashmir’s freedom since 1968 till his death in 1992.

Shabbir Ahmed Dar while remembering the great martyr said that people like Maqbool Malik were the source of inspiration for the Kashmiris in their just freedom struggle.
