Srinagar, July 17 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference has asked the United Nations and international community to take measures for the resolution of the Kashmir dispute as the issue poses a serious threat to the regional as well as global peace.

An APHC spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said the UN has a great role to play in creating atmosphere conducive for settlement of the decade-old dispute. He asked the global community to impress upon India to shun its stubborn attitude and accept ground reality regarding the Kashmir dispute. »

Srinagar, July 17 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Mirwaiz-led Hurriyat forum and Awami Action Committee (AAC) have paid rich tributes to late Tariq Ahmed Buch, the uncle of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, on his first death anniversary.

The forum and AAC in a joint statement issued in Srinagar recalled Tariq Ahmed Buch’s association with Hurriyat and AAC and said that he was greatly committed to his work and his death was a loss to both the organizations and to Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, personally. »

Brussels, July 17 (KMS):  Global media watchdogs, International Federation of Journalists (IFJ), and Committee to Protect Journalists have condemned the summoning of Kashmiri journalist, Aaqib Javaid Hakim to New Delhi by India’s National Investigative Agency (NIA) for questioning.

Brussels-based IFJ in a statement posted on its website said that summoning of Hakim was clearly an attempt to intimidate the journalist community of Jammu and Kashmir and a gross misuse of the authority. »

New Delhi, July 17 (KMS): As phenomenon of rising incidents of suicide among Indian troops is no less than a nightmare for Indian armed forces, a revelation by a senior doctor about 200 troops becoming disabled every year has dropped another bombshell on the military top brass.

Lt. General Bipin Puri, Director General of the Armed Forces Medical Service, in a media interview said, “Many a time there are cases of crippling of intestine and lungs due to injury to abdomen and chest.” »

The 26-year-old research student of Applied Geology at Aligarh Muslim University who had gone missing in January only to appear on social media quotes National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) textbook to describe a terrorist as “one who targets civilians indiscriminately to get their demands fulfilled”. NCERT is an autonomous organisation of the Government of India. »

Unknown gunmen fired indiscriminately at the policemen in Muran village of the district who were accompanying ex-MLA from Rajpora. »

Delhi court sends Aasiya to Tihar Jail

Srinagar, July 16 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism, martyred one more youth in Kupwara district, today.

The youth was killed during a violent operation by Indian Army in Safawali Gali area of the district. Two Indian troops were injured in an attack during a cordon and search operation in the same area.

The All Parties Hurriyat Conference in a statement issued in Srinagar strongly condemned the summoning of an accredited journalist, Aaqib Javed by the Indian National Investigation Agency to New Delhi terming it a ploy to frighten the journalist fraternity. The APHC appealed to the United Nations Human Rights Commission to take cognizance of the plight of Kashmiri resistance leaders, lodged in Delhi’s Tihar jail. »

Srinagar, July 16 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) has expressed concern over the prevailing situation and said that India is using its institutions to intimidate Kashmiri people.

The DFP spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said Kashmir is facing all sorts of tyranny by New Delhi and the later is using its men in uniform, investigating agencies and other institutions to silence Kashmiri people. »
