Srinagar, July 29 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik met at Hyderpora in Srinagar, today.

The meeting was held to discuss and deliberate regarding the serious challenge posed to Article 35-A in Indian Supreme Court.

It said that on 5th and 6th of August a complete protest strike will be observed throughout, and people will register their total disapproval and resistance to this politically motivated move. »

World urged to take notice of rights abuses

Srinagar, July 29 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Joint Resistance Leadership has warned India of strong agitation against any fiddling with Article 35-A of the Indian constitution, which defines permanent residents of Jammu and Kashmir and provides them with special rights and privileges.

The leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik met at Syed Ali Gilani’s residence in Srinagar, today, to discuss the real agenda behind the petitions filed in Indian Supreme Court against the constitutional provision. The JRL has called for complete shutdown in the occupied territory on August 5 and 6 to protest against a “politically-motivated move” to “abrogate Article 35-A”.

Srinagar, July 29 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, an Indian Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel was killed in an attack in Pulwama district on Sunday evening.

Reports said that the unknown gunmen fired upon CRPF man in Naira village of the district. He was immediately shifted to District Hospital, Pulwama, where he was declared brought dead. »

Srinagar, July 29 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Association of Parents of Disappeared Persons staged a sit-in in Srinagar to demand whereabouts of their beloved ones who went missing in custody of the Indian forces.

The families of various disappeared persons assembled at the Press Enclave in Srinagar and staged sit-in. Muqadam Bano, an aged woman from Zamboor Pattan, who was part of the protest, said that her husband and son went missing in forces’ custody on August 15, 1997. “The forces detained my husband and son along and they never returned,” she added. »

Srinagar, July 29 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Hurriyat forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has denounced heavy deployment of Indian forces in various parts of Kashmir and the subsequent search and frisking operation under the garb of utilizing special powers to harass masses.

A spokesman for the forum in a statement issued in Srinagar said, at Hajin, Sonawari the number of troops has been doubled and dozens of new bunkers have been constructed in the area, which has left the local population threatened. »

Srinagar, July 29 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference has condemned the cordon-and-search operations (CASOs) launched by Indian forces in various parts including Lal Chowk area of Srinagar, saying police and forces are unnecessarily harassing and intimidating civilians and business community on one pretext or the other.

The APHC in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “Virtually authorities have turned Kashmir into a battle field, forces are subjecting civilians to worst treatment and their fundamental rights are being disregarded and trampled.” »

Srinagar, July 29 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, seven personnel of Indian paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force were injured in a grenade attack in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district. A police official confirmed that unknown attackers lobbed a grenade towards the CRPF party at Jawbehra Chowk near Awantipora in the district, last night.

Four of the injured soldiers were shifted to local hospitals in Awantipora, while three critically injured were referred to army base hospital in Srinagar. »
