Srinagar, August 03 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, protests were held in Mandi tehsil of Poonch district, today, against the onslaught on Article 35-A of the Constitution that grants special status rights and privileges to the permanent residents of Jammu and Kashmir.

Thousands of people took out separate protest marches from mosques soon after congregational Friday prayers. The prayer leaders of the mosques also participated in the protest marches.

The protesters, while warning against annulment of the Article 35-A, raised pro-freedom and pro-Kashmir slogans.

The protesters said that the shutdown will be observed on August 6 when the Indian Supreme Court hears a petition seeking abrogation of the Article 35-A.
