Srinagar, August 04 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown is being observed on the second consecutive day, today, in Kupwara town and its adjacent areas in Kupwara district against the killing of youth by Indian troops.

The troops killed the youth, Zahoor Ahmed and Bilal Ahmed Shah, during a cordon and search operation at Khumriyal in Lolab area of Kupwara district on Thursday.

The shutdown is being observed in Trehgam, Kupwara, Lolab and other adjoining areas of the district. All the shops and business establishments are closed while traffic is off the road in Kupwara.

The occupation authorities have imposed curfew-like restrictions in Kupwara town to prevent people from staging demonstrations against the killing of the youth.

Meanwhile, complete shutdown is also being observed in Sopore town and its adjacent areas in Baramulla district, today, against the killing of two other youth, Riaz Ahmad Dar and Khursheed Ahmad Malik. Riaz and Khursheed were martyred by the troops during a cordon and search operation in Drusoo area of Sopore, yesterday.

The occupation authorities have deployed Indian troops and police personnel in the town to prevent people from holding demonstrations against the killings. The authorities have also announced closure of all educational institutions in Sopore division. Thousands of people participated in the funeral prayers of the martyred youth at their ancestral villages of Naseerabad Sopore and Aarihal Pulwama.
