Srinagar, August 08 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Dukhtaran-e-Millat has strongly condemned the shifting of party Chief, Aasiya Andrabi, along with her associates Nahida Nasreen and Fahmida Sofi from Mandoli Jail to notorious Tihar Jail in New Delhi.

The DeM spokesperson, Rifat Fatima, in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Aasiya Andrabi along with her two associates was lodged at Mandoli Jail on a judicial remand till August 10, but on August 5, they were secretly shifted to Tihar Jail without even informing their families and lawyers.

She said, “Recently the relatives of Aasiya Andrabi and Nahida Nasreen visited Madoli jail to meet them. As they reached Mandoli jail, the authorities there told them that incarcerated ladies have been shifted to Tihar jail.” She said that the jail authorities did not cite the reason behind the shifting. The spokesperson termed it shear lawlessness as well as misuse of powers. She said that Aasiya Andrabi was being particularly targeted which had affected her health badly.

Rifat Fatima said that Aasiya Andrabi was a popular leader and she only talked of settlement of the Kashmir dispute as per the relevant UN resolutions and there was nothing wrong in such a demand.
