Srinagar, August 10 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders and organizations have paid glowing tributes to prominent martyred Hurriyat leader, Sheikh Abdul Aziz, on the eve of his martyrdom anniversary.

Sheikh Abdul Aziz was shot dead by the Indian troops on 11th August, 2008, while he was leading a procession from Srinagar to the Line of Control against the economic blockade of the Kashmir Valley by Hindu extremists of Jammu.

The All Parties Hurriyat Conference General Secretary, Ghulam Nabi Sumjhi, in a statement in Srinagar paying homage to Sheikh Abdul Aziz praised him for his commitment and contributions towards the freedom struggle of Kashmir. »

Srinagar, August 10 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the authorities arrested the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) leader, Zahoor Ahmed Butt, from Hawal area of Srinagar and booked him under black law, Public Safety Act (PSA).

Zahoor Ahmed Butt is younger brother of prominent martyred liberation leader, Muhammad Maqbool Butt, who was hanged by India in its notorious Tihar Jail on February 11, 1984, for his active role in the ongoing freedom movement. Zahoor Ahmed Butt has been lodged at Nowhatta Police Station in Srinagar. »

Srinagar, August 10 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Crime Branch of police has asked police to file FIRs based on the complaints of two witnesses in the rape and murder case of an eight-year-old, Aasifa Bano of Kathua area of Jammu region.

The witnesses in the case have said that they were being threatened by the family members and friends of the perpetrators of this heinous crime.

The Crime Branch has also asked the district police in Kathua to provide protection to the two witnesses who made written complaints. »
