Islamabad, August 11 (KMS): The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter organized a seminar in Islamabad, today, to pay tributes to prominent martyred leader, Sheikh Abdul Aziz, on his 10 martyrdom anniversary.

Sheikh Abdul Aziz was shot dead by Indian troops on 11th August, 2008, while he was leading a procession from Srinagar to the Line of Control against the economic blockade of the Kashmir Valley by Hindu extremists of Jammu.

Speakers paying homage to Sheikh Abdul Aziz said that India had failed to suppress the Kashmiris ongoing freedom struggle through its military might and the people of Kashmir were determined to take their freedom movement to its logical conclusion at all costs. They deplored that India was hatching conspiracies to change the demographic composition of Jammu and Kashmir by abrogating Article 350-A, which guarantees special rights and privileges of the permanent residents of Jammu and Kashmir.

The speakers included AJK President, Sardar Masood Khan, Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan, Ghulam Muhammad Safi, Syed Faiz Naqshbandi, Abdul Rasheed Turabi, Sheikh Tajammul-ul-Islam, Mehmood Ahmad Saghar, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Rafique Ahmad Dar, Sheikh Mohammad Yaqoob, Ejaz Rehmani and Abdul Majeed Mir.

A resolution unanimously in the seminar said that that Kashmir was not a bilateral issue between Pakistan and India but an internationally-recognized dispute pending resolution with the United Nations.

Meanwhile, addressing a seminar and a rally in Muzaffarabad, the speakers paying rich tributes to Sheikh Abdul Aziz reiterated the Kashmiris’ resolve to continue liberation movement till it reached its logical conclusion. They said that the sacrifices of Sheikh Abdul Aziz and other Kashmiri martyrs would not be allowed to go waste. They appealed to the United Nations to fulfill its commitment of holding plebiscite in Jammu and Kashmir.

The speakers included Abdul Aziz Alvi, Sheikh Aqeel-ur-Rahman, Aziz Ahmed Ghazali, Mushtaq-ul-Islam, Showkat Javaid Mir, Raja Sajjad Lateef, Mehmud-ul-Hassan Ashraf, Muhammad Zahid Ashraf, Qazi Shahid Hameed Advocate, Qari Bilal Farooqi, Hamza Shahee and Usman Ali Hashim. A large number of Hurriyat leaders, political and social figure besides general people attended the seminar and the rally.
