24 SPOs seek apology, quit police jobs

Srinagar, August 12 (KMS): Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control and across the world will observe the India’s Independence Day on Wednesday as Black Day to convey the message to the international community that New Delhi has usurped their inalienable right to self-determination by the dint of force.

The day will be marked by a complete strike in occupied Kashmir, call for which has been given by the Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik. The leadership in a joint statement issued in Srinagar said that an atmosphere of fear had been created in the occupied territory through frisking and harassment of people at the checkpoints established by the Indian forces in the run-up to August 15. The leaders urged India to realize the ground reality and come forward to settle the lingering Kashmir dispute according to the will of the Kashmiri people. »

Srinagar, August 12 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Teheek-e-Wahdat-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir held a founding day session in Srinagar, today, on the occasion of death anniversary of its founder Syed Sadiq Rizvi.

The Chairman of the party, Nisar Hussain Rather chaired the session while office-bearers and members of the party in large number participated in the ceremony.

Molvi Mohammad Isamil, Hakeem Ghulam Hussain, Shabbir Ahmad Dar, Nazir Saifullah and Khadim Hussain addressing on the occasion threw light on the life of Syed Sadiq Rizvi and praised his services for the party. »

Srinagar, August 12 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, one youth was killed and four were injured on Sunday in an explosion in the picturesque Tosa Maidan meadow in Badgam district.

Youth were hailing from Arizal area of the district. The area was once used as firing range by the Indian army. »

Srinagar, August 12 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League (JKML) has expressed profound grief and sorrow over the passing away of uncle of its illegally detained Chairman, Masarrat Aalam Butt.

The JKML spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said all district and central office-bearers of the party expressed sympathy with bereaved family especially with Masarrat Aalam Butt. »

Srinagar, August 12 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir,a policeman was killed while four Central Reserve Police Force personnel were injured in an attack in Batamaloo area of Srinagar, today. Special operations group (SOG) of Indian police and paramilitary CRPF jointly laid a siege around Deyarwani locality of Batamaloo and stated cordon and search operation. When the searches were in progress, some unknown men attacked the forces’ personnel. “One police man was killed, and four CRPF personnel sustained injuries, operation continues,” Director General of Police (DGP) SP Vaid said in a twitter message. »

Jammu, August 12 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, in a first sign of revolt in Hindu extremist Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) over its favoring of scrapping Article 35-A, the BJP MLA from R S Pura, Gagan Bhagat opposed abrogation of the State residency law and warned that if the law was scrapped, Jammuites would take up guns and pelt stones. »

Srinagar, August 12 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, in the face of unrelenting Indian atrocities on innocent Kashmiris and New Delhi’s deep conspiracies against the demography of Jammu and Kashmir, as many as 24 special police officers (SPOs) have left their jobs and returned home. They have also sought apology from Kashmiri people.

Some SPOs announced their resignations in mosques and others simply stayed home to indicate they have quitted police jobs, media reports said. »
