Srinagar, August 13 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the joint resistance leadership (JRL) comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik has said the ongoing spree of arrests and nocturnal raids are most undemocratic.

The JRL leaders in a joint statement issued in Srinagar said that from southern districts of Kashmir to northern districts and central Kashmir, a spree of arrests is going on unabated and thousands of young and old are being put behind bars and tortured physically and mentally. »

Shutdown in Chadoora, Langate and Tral areas in IOK

Srinagar, August 13 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai has expressed concern over the inhuman treatment meted out to Dukhtran-e-Millat Chief Aasiya Andrabi and her two associates in Delhi’s notorious Tihar Jail.

Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Aasiya Andrabi, Fehmeeda Sofi and Nahida Nasreen were placed in a solitary confinement and were being subjected to physical and psychological torture in the jail.

Illegally detained senior APHC leader Shabbir Ahmad Shah in a message from Delhi’s Tihar Jail felicitated the people of Pakistan on the eve of the country’s Independence Day and said that the people of Kashmir loved Pakistan more than their lives. Other Hurriyat leaders including Shabbir Ahmad Dar, Bilal Ahmed Siddiqui, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, Zafar Akbar Butt, Muhammad Musaddiq Aadil, Abdul Samad Inqiliabi, Nisar Rathar, Masroor Abbas Ansari and Muhammad Farooq Rehmani in their separate statements prayed for safety of the country from all internal and external conspiracies. They said the ideological Pakistan has a leadership role in Muslim Ummah. »

He was scheduled to attend ‘Khauff se Azaadi’ event
New Delhi, August 13 (KMS): Some unidentified men targeted Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) student leader Umar Khalid and gunshots were heard at the Constitution Club near Parliament, today, but he escaped unhurt, police said.

Witnesses said that two shots were fired when Khalid was at the entrance of the club. The student leader was at the venue to attend an event titled ‘Khauff Se Azaadi’, organised by an organisation named ‘United Against Hate’.

Umar Khalid became famous after he criticized the unjust execution of Kashmiri leader, Muhammad Afzal Guru at the hands of Indian judiciary. »

Srinagar, August 13 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leader and the Chairman of Jammu Kashmir Peoples League, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza along with party members visited Utrusoo Shangus in Islamabad district and expressed sympathy and solidarity with the bereaved families.

Mukhtar Ahmad Waza on the occasion prayed for the departed souls and also expressed sympathies with the families of the deceased.

Srinagar, August 13 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown is being observed in Chadoora, Langate and Tral areas to mark the first martyrdom anniversary of liberation activist Muhammad Yasin Itoo and rising Indian state terrorism in the territory.

All shops and other business establishments are closed while public transport is off the road in these areas.

In Chadoora town of Budgam district, first martyrdom anniversary of Mohammad Yasin Itoo is being observed, today. Mohammad Yasin Itoo alias Commander Gaznavi along with his three associates was martyred by the Indian troops in Awneera village of Shopian on this day in 2017. »

Srinagar, August 13 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Hurriyat forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has condemned the continued arrest of Dukhtaran-e-Milat Chairperson, Aasiya Andrabi and her two aides, Fehmeeda Sofi and Nahida Nasreen at New Delhi’s Tihar Jail.

The Hurriyat forum spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “The DeM Chairperson is already suffering from multiple ailments and has been now kept in a solitary confinement, which is nothing but a sheer political vendetta.” »

Woman among 5 injured in Indian troops’ firing

Srinagar, August 13 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, unidentified gunmen killed a youth in Pulwama district, last night.

The 24-year-old Gulzar Ahmad Butt was shot dead by unknown gunmen on Sunday night when he was parking his vehicle near his house in Bonpora Murran area of the district.

Butt, who worked as a salesman at a medical store in Bijbehara, received 10 bullets in the firing by the unknown gunmen, a senior police official told media. »
