Indian troops shoot and wound youth during CASO in Pulwama » Kashmir Media Service

Srinagar, August 14 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops shot and wounded a civilian youth in Kakapora area of Pulwama during a protest against a cordon and search operation by the Indian forces in the area.

The youth has been identified as Sameer Ahmad, a resident of Qasigund, Kakapora. A team of Indian army, Central Reserve Police Force, and police laid a siege around the Kakapora area and initiated a search operation, a police official said.

He said that a group of youth took to the streets and started protests against the operation. In the meantime, one youth was injured in the firing by the troops, he admitted.

Doctors at Medical officer at Primary Health Centre, Kakapora said the youth had suffered a firearm injury in his left foot and was shifted to Bone and Joint Hospital, Srinagar for better treatment.

The forces also fired teargas canisters and bullets to dispers protesters.
