Officer among three police personnel killed

Srinagar, August 23 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has lashed out at the Indian authorities for using force on congregational Eid prayers in Srinagar and other parts of the territory on Eid day.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a statement issued in Srinagar termed the firing of pellets and teargas shells by the Indian troops on worshipers at Eidgah in Srinagar and elsewhere a total disrespect to the Muslim festivals. He described the forces’ action as shameful and inhuman. The Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League at a meeting in Srinagar also condemned the use of brute force on worshippers. »

Unknown men barged into the house of Inspector Mohammad Ashraf at Larve in Pulwama district and opened fire on him. The Police officer was critically injured and succumbed on his way to hospital. »

Srinagar, August 23 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Grand Mufti designate, Mufti Nasirul Islam while extending Eid greetings to people of Jammu and Kashmir has prayed that this Muslim festival may bring freedom from tyranny of India.

Mufti Nasirul Islam in a message in Srinagar said that the Muslims of Jammu and Kashmir were celebrating Eidul Adha in an atmosphere where their children were killed by the Indian forces with each passing day. »
