Srinagar, August 24 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Teachers Joint Action Committee has strongly condemned the use of force by the Indian police on peaceful protesters particularly teachers on the day of Eid-ul-Azha.

The TJAC held a meeting in Srinagar which was chaired by its President, Abdul Qayoom Wani.

In the meeting, Qayoom Wani demanded probe into the incident and urged the authorities that instead of using pressure tactics they should realize the sensitivity of the issue and should take appropriate measures to address the demands of the teachers.

He expressed sympathy with the injured teachers and assured the teaching fraternity that TJAC will continue its struggle to get the legitimate demands of the teachers addressed. He said that TJAC has decided to continue protest and go for indefinite hunger strike as per schedule from 30th August if the authorities failed to redress the grievances of teaching fraternity till 29th August.
