Sehrai condemns slapping of PSA on party activists

Srinagar, August 25 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai has strongly condemned the slapping of draconian Public Safety Act (PSA) on party activists, Farooq Ahmad Shah of Kulgam, Manzoor Ahmad Khan and Javaid Munshi of Srinagar and shifting them to jails outside the Valley.

Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Farooq Ahmad Shah was also arrested in 2016 and later he was released. He said Manzoor Ahmad Khan was released two months ago after remaining in jails for five years.

He said that the entire Kashmir had been turned into a police state where innocent youth were being summoned and tortured in police station which was condemnable. He said that the youth were not even allowed to celebrate Eid peacefully. He said that such cheap tactics could not weaken the freedom sentiment of the Kashmiri people.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement, Zafar Akbar Butt called on the Chairman of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai in Srinagar and discussed with him the prevailing human rights situation in the occupied territory.
