Over 100 injured in forces’ action in Kulgam

Srinagar, August 29 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism martyred two youth in Islamabad district, today.

The troops killed the youth identified as Altaf Ahmad Kachroo and Omar Rasheed during a cordon and search operation in Munward area of the district. The troops also blasted a house in the area. The authorities claimed that Altaf Kachroo, a resident of Kulgam, was top commander of Hizbul Mujahideen. Mobile and internet services were blocked in south Kashmir, while train services between Srinagar and Banihal were suspended.

Over one hundred people were injured when Indian troops resorted to bullet and pellet firing on protesters in Khudwani area of Kulgam district, today. The people were protesting against the killing of the two youth by the Indian troops in Islamabad district. Doctors at Qaimoh hospital confirmed that more than 60 injured were brought with pellet injuries. The killing led to a spontaneous shutdown in Islamabad, Khudwani and Qaimoh areas. Hurriyat leaders and organizations in their separate statements paid glowing tributes to martyrs Altaf Ahmad Kachroo and Omar Rasheed. »

Srinagar, August 29 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai has strongly condemned the shifting of party activist Farooq Ahmad Shah from Mattan to Kathua jail in Jammu after invoking draconian law Public Safety Act (PSA) against him.

Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Farooq Ahmad Shah was arrested in 2016 and was released, later. “Since then, Farooq has not been involved in political activities, but police arrested him on 13th of August 2018 in Kulgam district and shifted him to Mattan jail on 15th of August.” He said that the authorities had slapped PSA against him and shifted him to Kathua jail in Jammu. He described the slapping of PSA on Farooq as blatant injustice. »

Srinagar, August 29 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders and organizations have paid glowing tributes to two youth Altaf Ahmad Kachroo and Omar Rasheed who were martyred by Indian troops in Muniward area of Islamabad district, today.

Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) in a statement issued in Srinagar while paying tributes to the martyrs said, “It is because of the supreme sacrifices of these brave hearts that Kashmir dispute has started reverberating at all international forums.” The JKDFP also expressed grief over the demise of great Kashmiri sympathizer Syed Javaid Ahmed who died in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, yesterday. »

New Delhi, August 29 (KMS): Narendra Modi led Bharatiya Janata Party government has arrested veteran human rights activist and a strong critic of Indian policies against Muslims in India in general, and in Jammu and Kashmir in particular, Gautam Navlakha, from his residence in New Delhi.

Gautam Navlakha, a civil liberties, democratic and human rights activist and a journalist was arrested on the false charge of having links with Maoists. Navlakha was produced before the court and would be taken into custody by the Maharashtra Police.

Gautam Navlakha’s real ‘crime’ is his disapproval of Indian policies in occupied Kashmir. For example, four days after the martyrdom of popular Kashmiri youth leader Burhan Muzaffar Wani on July 08, 2016, Navlakha wrote an article titled Kashmir—Cry My Beloved Country. »

Srinagar, August 29 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani while expressing his grave concern over the plight of Kashmiri prisoners in all jails in and outside Jammu and Kashmir, has praised the steadfastness and deep conviction of these prisoners of conscience.

Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar while giving details of the inhuman treatment meted out to the incarcerated resistance leaders and activists, deplored that the Indian fascist ruling class treated “our resistance leaders like professional criminals in their so-called jails which have been turned into worst centers of interrogation.” »

Srinagar, August 29 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders and organizations have warned of mass uprising against any fiddling with the Article 35-A of the Indian Constitution that grants special rights to the permanent residents of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Jammu and Kashmir People’s Movement Chairman, Mir Shahid Saleem speaking at a gathering in Surankot area of Poonch district said that India was hatching one conspiracy after another to change the disputed character of Jammu and Kashmir by fiddling with the Article 35-A of its constitution. He said people of Jammu and Kashmir will never allow India to change the disputed status of the occupied territory. He reiterated that Kashmir was a disputed territory and its political future was still to be decided by a plebiscite under the supervision of the United Nations.

The Jammu and Kashmir People’s Movement (JKPM) also supported the strike call given by Joint Resistance leadership for Thursday and Friday. »

EJCC stages protest in Srinagar

Srinagar, August 29 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown will be observed across the occupied territory on Thursday and Friday to register protest against the Indian government’s attempts to abrogate the Article 35-A of the Indian constitution.

Call for the strike has been given by the Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik. The shutdown is aimed at expressing resentment against the BJP government’s attempts to repeal the Article 35-A, which guarantees special rights and privileges to the permanent residents of Jammu and Kashmir. »
