Srinagar, September 30 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, several people were injured, some of them critically, when Indian troops used brute force on protesters in Redwani area of Kulgam district.

The troops fired bullets, pellets and teargas shells on people who were protesting against the opening of a new army camp in Redwani. Three young boys hit with pellets were shifted to a local hospital for treatment. »

Bengaluru, September 30 (KMS): The trend of policemen decamping with service weapons and joining armed struggle has become a major concern for the Indian political and military establishment as it is indicative of a strong pro-freedom sentiment among a section of local police, reported an English daily newspaper published from the Indian state of Karnataka.

The newspaper, Deccan Herald while commenting on media reports about a special police officer (SPO) decamping with eight service weapons from a police post guarding the residence of a legislator in uptown Jawahar Nagar area of Srinagar said, “This is not an isolated incident as over 10 such incidents have been reported.” »

Srinagar, September 30 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, an Indian soldier committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle inside a camp in Rajouri district, Jammu.

The soldier identified as Ram Charan, posted with the 126th battalion of Border Security Force, was on duty when he fatally shot himself in the neck at Sunderbani BSF Headquarters in the district, last night. »

New York, September 30 (KMS): Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, while representing Pakistan at the 73rd session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, emphasised that the unresolved Kashmir dispute poses a great threat to peace and stability in the region.

“Peace can never be established in South Asia unless the issue of Kashmir is resolved in accordance with the UN resolutions,” Qureshi asserted.

“It is India that in plain sight operates state terrorism in Jammu Kashmir,” he stressed adding that it is a matter of great concern that “humanity is being crushed and human rights are being violated all across India”. »

Srinagar, September 30 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, a policeman was killed in an attack on a police station in Shopian on Sunday morning.

The attack was carried out by some armed men on Shopian police station resulting in injuries to a policeman.

A police officer told media that the attackers hurled a grenade followed by firing on the police station. »
