People asked to boycott Panchayat polls
Srinagar, September 04 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Joint Resistance Leadership held a protest demonstration in Srinagar, today, against the killing of a civilian youth, Fayaz Ahmad Wani, in firing by Indian troops in Pulwama district.

The protest was led by Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik. Scores of resistance leaders and activists assembled outside Jamia Masjid Nowhatta after Zuhar prayers and marched on the streets to protest the killing. Resistance leaders and activists including Hilal Ahmad War, Muhammad Yousuf Naqash, Hakeem Abdur Rasheed, Yasmeen Raja, Syed Bashir Andrabi, Ghulam Nabi Zaki, Muhammad Yasin Atai, Showkat Bakhshi, Sheikh Abdur Rasheed, Syed Imtiaz Haider, Bashir Kashmiri, Mushtaq Ahmad Sofi, Ashraf bin Salam, Ghulam Qadir Baig, Prince Naseem, Farooq Ahmad Sodagar, Imtiaz Ahmad Shah, Advocate Yasir Dalal, Ghulam Hassan Mir, Syed Muhammad Shafi, Khawaja Firdous Wani, Muhammad Shafi Mir, Ghulam Ahmad Nagoo, Abdur Rasheed Untoo and Abdul Majeed Wani participated in the protest. »

Srinagar, September 04 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the family members of illegally detained Hurriyat leader, Sarjan Barkati, along with dozens of relatives and neighbours staged a protest at Press Enclave in Srinagar, today, against his continued detention.

Sarjan Barkati earned the sobriquet of ‘pied piper’ of Kashmir for his speeches and peculiar method of sloganeering that attracted large crowds during the mass uprising, triggered by extrajudicial killing of popular youth leader, Burhan Wani, in 2016. He was arrested on October 01 that year.

The protesters demanded the release of Sarjan Barkati as the family’s survival has become difficult without a bread earner. »

Srinagar, September 04 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown is being observed in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, today, against the killing of a civilian, Fayaz Ahmed Wani, by the Indian troops during a cordon and search operation in Chew Kalan area of the district.

All shops, business establishments and government offices are closed while traffic is off the road. The class-work in all the higher secondary schools in Pulwama town, Rajpora and Kakapora areas of the district has been suspended. An official said that class work in Degree College for boys and women will also remain suspended, today. »

Jammu, September 04 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the authorities have decided to demolish a housing colony of the Muslims of the Kashmir valley set up near Jammu city few years before.

Thousands of the Muslims from the Kashmir Valley are settled in Bashir Gujjar Basti, Belicharana Satwari area of Jammu district. They have been served notices to vacate their houses so that these could be demolished. The Kashmir valley Muslims have built over two hundred houses in the settlement. »

Monday was tough day for troops, admits CRPF officer

Srinagar, September 04 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, relatives and friends of Fayaz Ahmed Wani, who was martyred in the firing of Indian troops during a cordon and search operation in Chew Kalan area of Pulwama district, yesterday, rejected the Indian Army’s version and said that he was directly hit when he stepped out of his house to turn up for his duty.

Fayaz Ahmed Wani, 30, a postgraduate in English, worked in a private pathology laboratory in Pulwama. He was set to leave home for his Lab when he heard about the search operation. On seeing soldiers dotting the entire area around his home, he decided to sit indoors until the search was over. »

Srinagar, September 04 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops assaulted civilians and vandalized private property including vehicles at Kadgam in Imam Sahib area of Shopian district.

Locals told media that the troops arrived in the dead of night and assaulted people without any provocation. They said that neither there was any stone-pelting nor were any protests, which could have provoked the troops. »

Srinagar, September 04 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders and organizations have strongly condemned the killing of a civilian, Fayaz Ahmed Wani, in the firing of Indian troops during a cordon and search operation (CASO) at Chew Kalan in Pulwama district on Monday.

The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Muhammad Yasin Malik in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “Kashmir is a police state where killing of innocent people is normal for the Indian forces.” He said that Pulwama witnessed yet another bloodbath which was highly condemnable. »

Jammu, September 04 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, a 29-year-old man with a master’s degree in business administration and son of a government engineer, has joined armed resistance, police claimed, citing a widely circulated picture of him holding an assault rifle.

Haroon Abbas Wani of Ghat in Doda district joined the armed struggle two days ago, DIG, Chenab Valley, Rafiq-ul-Hassan Qadri told media.

“Of course, it is shocking for everybody. He is a well qualified youth, an MBA ……. His father is a serving engineer and one of his brothers is an MA. He comes from a very good and qualified family,” Qadri said, adding that the police are looking into it. »

The attack was carried out on Indian paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) party at Sangrama Chowk in Sopore. »
