Srinagar, September 05 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, senior APHC leader and the Chairman of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat (TeH) Jammu and Kashmir, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, has strongly condemned the arrest of prominent freedom leader, Syed Salahuddin’s another son, Syed Skaheel Ahmed Shah.

Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “We strongly condemn the arrest of Syed Shakeel Ahmed and Syed Shahid Yousuf. The move is a desperate attempt on the part of New Delhi to cow down the leadership.”

He said that Syed Salahuddin’s two sons had no affiliation with any political party and both were performing their professional duties in their respective fields, so targeting and confining them for being the sons of Salahuddin was ridiculous.

Senior APHC leader said that the move was a vain attempt to weaken and break Syed Salahuddin’s commitment and conviction towards the ongoing freedom movement. “Such cowardly suppressive measures can’t dampen the passion and commitment of Salahuddin and other leaders,” he said.

The TeH Chairman pointed out that India was shamelessly using its National Investigation Agency (NIA) for character assassination of pro-freedom leadership and the probe body was implicating the kith and kin of the Hurriyat leaders in fake cases.

Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai appealed to the international community and world human rights bodies to take cognizance of oppressive measures of India and its agencies and come to the rescue of the oppressed Kashmiris.

Meanwhile, Hurriyat leader and the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement, Zafar Akbar Butt, in a statement issued in Srinagar strongly condemned the continued illegal detention of party activists including Hilal Ahmed Beig, Manzoor Ahmed Wani, Sajjad Ahmed, Rathar Muzamil, Muhammad Arif, Zahoor Ahmed and Muhammad Iqbal. He demanded immediate release of all unlawfully detained Kashmiris languished in different jails.
