Srinagar, September 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) started anti-election campaign by organizing a rally at Abi Guzar in Srinagar, in which senior Hurriyat leaders, activists and people belonging to all walks of life participated.

Under the leadership of Mohammad Yaseen Aataie, the rally marched through the Abi Guzar Street, displaying anti-election banners and placards denouncing human rights violations, civilian killings and arrest spree at the hands of occupation forces. »

Srinagar, September 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, has said that the statement of India’s National Security Advisor, Ajit Doval, on Kashmir’s separate Constitution being an aberration shows the arrogance of power.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq addressing people at historic Jamia Masjid in Srinagar, today, said, “The statement of Ajit Doval challenging every law and constitutional provisions enshrined in Indian Constitution, till the matter of Jammu and Kashmir was to be decided by its people through referendum, by calling them aberrations that had to be done away with, shows arrogance and a complete disregard for historical facts and ground realities about Kashmir.” »

Srinagar, September 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops launched cordon and search operations in Pulwama, Rafiabad and Kishtwar areas.

The troops sealed all the entry and exit points to Sirnoo area of Pulwama district. Youth in large numbers hit the streets shouting pro-freedom slogans as soon as the troops launched the operation. The troops fired teargas shells to disperse the protesting youth. »

Concern raised about Aasiya’s declining health at Tihar

Srinagar, September 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani, has strongly condemned the use of force against the civil population and the families of freedom activists by the Indian troops and police.

Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the measures like arrest of two sons of prominent freedom leader, Syed Salahuddin, by India’s National Investigation Agency and damaging the house of freedom activist, Lateef Ahmed Dar, by the Indian forces’ personnel were aimed at building pressure on the freedom-loving people. He urged the international human rights organizations to take cognizance of the gross human rights violations perpetrated by the Indian forces’ personnel in occupied Kashmir. »

Srinagar, September 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown was observed in Shopian town, today, to mark the fifth anniversary of four civilians, who were killed by Indian troops.

The civilians, Tawseef Ahmed, Muhammad Yousuf, Abdullah Haroon and Tariq Ahmed Mir were killed in Gagren area of the town on this day in 2013.

All the shops and business establishments were closed in the town while the traffic was sparse on the road.

On the other hand, Indian police arrested a student, Amir Hameed, from his residence at Babakhider-Trenz area during a night crackdown.

Paris, September 07 (KMS): Paris-based Reporters Without Borders or Reporters Sans Frontières (RSF) has called for immediate and unconditional release of Kashmiri journalist, Aasif Sultan, who has been detained by the Indian police in Srinagar for the past several days.

Daniel Bastard, the head of RSF’s Asia-Pacific desk, in a statement issued on the website of the organization said, “Detaining a journalist without any serious evidence to support the charges against him is unacceptable.” He urged the authorities to drop all charges against the journalist and take action against the police officers responsible for his arbitrary detention. »

Srinagar, September 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League (JKML) has expressed serious concern over the unjustified arrest spree by the Indian police in the territory ahead of the so-called local bodies and panchayat elections.

A JKML spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that India had converted the entire occupied Kashmir into a police state for conducting farcical local bodies and panchayat elections. He said that the people of the territory had always rejected such election dramas as India used the farcical polls as a tool to mislead the world community on the ground situation of Kashmir. »

Srinagar, September 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, panic gripped after braid of a lady was chopped off in Rajouri district.

The lady was on way to her sister’s house in Bareri, Koteranka in the district on Thursday when a portion of her hair was found chopped off by unknown persons.

She was found in a state of shock and was immediately admitted in a hospital. She was taken to community health center in Koteranka where her condition is said to be stable while the incident triggered panic in the area.

Srinagar, September 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), today, organized a protest demonstration in Srinagar against the recent civilian killing in Pulwama and plight of illegally detained Hurriyat leaders and activists languishing in different jails.

Soon after the Friday prayers, scores of JKLF activists led by senior party leaders held a demonstration at Maisuma in Srinagar.

The demonstration was held in response to a call by the Joint Resistance Leadership to protest the recent civilian killing in Pulwama and the plight of Kashmiri prisoners languishing in different jails of India and the occupied territory. »
