Srinagar, September 08 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian police arrested Hurriyat leader and the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League (JKPL), Mukhtar Ahmed Waza, in Islamabad town.

A spokesman of JKPL in a statement in Srinagar said that Islamabad police arrested Mukhtar Waza early Saturday from his residence and put him under detention.

The spokesman strongly condemned the illegal detention of Mukhtar Waza terming it as political vengeance.

Meanwhile, Hurriyat leader and the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement (JKSM), Zafar Akbar Butt in a statement in Srinagar condemned the continued illegal detention of Hurriyat leaders and activists.

Denouncing the curbs on political leaders and activists, he said that the Indian government would never succeed in suppressing the sentiment of Kashmiris by such oppressive tactics as they were determined to continue the ongoing liberation movement till complete success.
