On Mirwaiz’s plea Kashmir joint resistance body formed in UK » Kashmir Media Service

London, September 11 (KMS): An All-Party Conference of all political, social and religious organisations of the Kashmiri diaspora was held at Birmingham.

The conference was organized by the Kashmiri diaspora leaders, Professor Nazir Ahmed Shawl and Barrister Abdul Majeed Tramboo. The event was addressed by senior resistance leader, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, over phone from Srinagar. He declared that under the Joint Resistance Leadership, all the people of Jammu and Kashmir are united against the Indian oppression.

The Mirwaiz suggested to the participants to form a joint resistance committee on the pattern of JRL to promote the cause at the international level in unison with the existing ground realities to evolve a cohesive narrative for ascertaining the will of the Kashmiri people. This suggestion was debated at length and finally it was agreed to form a Kashmir joint resistance committee with Professor Nazir Ahmed Shawl its convener.

Professor Nazir Ahmed Shawl welcomed the participants and appealed to the participants to debate the situation summed up in the slogan “Incredible India’s Incredible terrorism”.

Barrister Abdul Majeed Tramboo reminded the participants of the role that diaspora had played during the last thirty years to highlight the Kashmir cause.

Others who addressed the conference included Muhammad Ghalib, Maulana Fazal Ahmed Qadri, Najeeb Afsar, Inamul Haque, Dr Shokat Hussain, Chaudhri Khadim Hussain, Zainab Khan, Muhammad Saqib, Raja Sikander Khan, Zubair Awan, Saeed Mughal and Sajid Yousaf.

The representatives of the parties that attended the conference included Tehreek-e-Kashmir Europe, Kashmir Liberation Organisation, Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Party, JKLF-R, Kashmir Tehreek-e-Insaf, Jammu and Kashmir National Peoples Party, Kashmir Concern, Sunni Hurriyat Council, J&K Liberation League, Global Pakistan and Kashmir Supreme Council, Pakistan Peoples’ Party, Pakistan Muslim League-N and Pakistan Rabita Council.
