Srinagar, September 12 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of International Forum for Justice and Human Rights (IFJHR), Muhammad Ahsan Untoo has termed the Rs 20,000 in compensation to a torture victim, Nasruallah Khan, whose both kidneys were damaged during torture by the Indian troops on August 31, 2017, as a cruel joke with the victim.

Muhammad Ahsan Untoo in a statement issued in Srinagar said that victim Nasruallah Khan had spent tens of thousands of rupees on his treatment, while financial aid worth Rs 20,000 announced by Kupwara administration was a joke with the victim.

Nasruallah’s both kidneys were damaged during the torture and intense beating by the troops during custody in 2017.

The IFJHR chairman was reacting to the reply from the district development commission Kupwara on his petition filed before the Human Rights Commission.
