New Delhi, September 13 (KMS): The Delhi High Court has granted bail to a Kashmiri businessman, Zahoor Watali, in a fake case registered against him in 2017.

Watali has to furnish a personal bail bond of Rs 2 lakh besides submitting his passport, said an offical.

The Kashmiri businessman was arrested by National Investigation Agency (NIA) on August 17, 2017. He has been lodged in Tihar jail since his arrest.

Meanwhile, the leaders of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front-R (JKLF-R), Barrister Abdul Majeed Tramboo and Wajahat Bashir Qureshi in their joint statement issued in Srinagar welcomed the decision of Delhi Court to grant bail to Kashmiri businessman, Zahoor Ahmed Shah Watali. The Indian NIA had implicated Zahoor Watali in a fake case. He had been languishing in Tihar Jail, New Delhi, since August 7, 2017.

They also demanded the release of other Hurriyat leaders including its Chairman Farooq Ahmed Dar, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Nayem Khan, Saif Ullah, Ayaz Akbar, Merajudin Kalwal and Mohammad Altaf Shah.
