Srinagar, September 14 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Hurriyat forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has paid glowing tributes to party’s prominent member and Kashmir’s noted legal luminary, Abdul Hameed Kakroo of Baramulla on his demise.

A Hurriyat forum delegation headed by Ghulam Nabi Zaki visited Baramulla to express solidarity with the bereaved family.

Speaking on the occasion Ghulam Nabi Zaki said that the deceased was a close aide of Shaheed-e-Milat Moulvi Muhammad Farooq who remained on the forefront of party’s activities on social, religious and political fronts. »

Kashmiris to continue struggle till complete success

Srinagar, September 14 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, people held forceful demonstrations in Srinagar, Sopore, Kokarnag and other areas, today, against the illegal detentions, killings and holding of the so-called elections in the territory.

A large number of people including Hurriyat leaders and activists held demonstrations at Hyderpora and Nowahatta in Srinagar and in Sopore, Kokarnag and Dangerpora areas and shouted high-pitched pro-freedom and anti-India slogans. The protesters were led by Hurriyat leaders including Muhammad Yousuf Naqash, Bilal Siddiqi, Molvi Bashir Irfani, Syed Bashir Andrabi, Mukhtar Ahmed Waza, Imtiaz Reshi, Javaid Ahmed Mir, Nisar Hussain Rathar, Khawaja Firdous Wani, Hameed Elahi and Imtiaz Ahmad Shah. They were holding placards and banners with slogans “We want freedom”, “release Kashmiri detainees” and “No to all elections – till right to self-determination”. Indian troops fired teargas shells to disperse the protesters in Sopore, injuring many of them. »

Srinagar, September 14 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders and activists took out an anti-election rally at Hyderpora in Srinagar to urge people to boycott the so-called election drama of local bodies.

Hurriyat leaders, Mohammad Yousuf Naqash, Bilal Siddiquui, Bashir Andrabi, Molvi Bashir Ahmad, Nisar Hussain Rather, Khawaja Firdous, Hameed Elahi, Imtiaz Ahmad Shah and dozens others were holding banners and placards inscribed with anti-election slogans. »

Srinagar, September 14 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leader and the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League (JKPL), Mukhtar Ahmad Waza has said that Kashmir dispute can be settled through the United Nations resolutions.

Mukhtar Ahmad Waza addressing a public gathering in Kokarnag area of Islamabad district said that the lingering Kashmir dispute should be resolved politically instead of military might. He said that the innocent people of Kashmir were being martyred on daily basis for struggle to secure their birthright to self-determination. »

Srinagar, September 14 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement (JKSM) has condemned the illegal detention of resistance leaders and activists and said that it was extremely unwise to deny political space and muzzle genuine voices of Kashmiris.

The JKSM spokesman in a statement in Srinagar denounced the authorities for creating chaos in the territory and said that party activists including Imtiyaz Ahmad and Abdul Rashid were arrested from the High Court. »

Srinagar, September 14 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Umar Farooq of Kowsibagh village in Pulwama was arrested on February 26, 2018 in a false case of weapon snatching and has been in jail ever since.

His mother, Begum, in a media interview said on the day Umar, as usual, was ferrying passengers from his village to main town Pulwama when some unidentified gun wielding men intercepted him outside the degree college, Pulwama. »

Srinagar, September 14 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the family of illegally detained youth, Peerzada Muhammad Ashraf of Islamabad town has expressed dismay over the legal system for having a reputation of being expensive and prone to delays.

Peerzada Muhammad Ashraf, 35 was arrested on December 2006 in connection with a false case of grenade attack occurred on July 19, 2004 at Kapran Verinag area of Islamabad district. »

Srinagar, September 14 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown is being observed in Sopore and Zainageer areas of Baramulla district, today, to protest against the killing of Hurriyat activist, Hakeem-ur-Rehman Sultani, and youth by Indian troops.

Call for the shutdown has been given by the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik.

All shops, business establishments and petrol pumps are closed in Sopore and Zaingeer areas while transport is off the road. The occupation authorities yesterday ordered the closure of all educational institutions in Sopore sub-division today. »
