Srinagar, September 15 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian police arrested Hurriyat leader and the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference (JKMC), Shabbir Ahmed Dar, from his residence in Sopore during a nocturnal raid.

The JKMC spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said Shabbir Ahmed Dar is suffering from blood pressure and heart ailment but was not allowed even to take medicine along.

He termed the arrest of party Chairman undemocratic and unjustified action, stating that using military might to muzzle the genuine voices would not sustain for long. Arrest of ailing leaders for no reason reflects the frustration of the authorities as they have failed to break the resolve of leadership and people of Kashmir towards the liberation movement.
