TeH leader among many arrested

Srinagar, September 18 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Joint Resistance Leadership has reiterated its appeal to the Kashmiri people to completely boycott the upcoming municipal and local bodies’ elections in the territory.

The leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik in a statement issued in Srinagar termed the election drama enacted by India as a political gimmick to hoodwink the international community. The JRL said that the so-called elections could not be substitute to the internationally-recognized right to self-determination of the Kashmiri people. Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik maintained that the people of Kashmir were engaged in a struggle aimed at securing their inalienable right, for which they had sacrificed more than 650,000 human lives, besides property worth billions of rupees.

Meanwhile, complete shutdown was observed on the fourth consecutive day, today, in Islamabad district to mourn the killing of a local civilian, Rauf Ahmed Ganai, by Indian troops in Qazigund on Saturday. All shops and other business establishments were closed while traffic was off the road. »

Srinagar, September 18 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, a video of Muharram procession in Srinagar which has gone viral on social media has garnered millions of views wherein youth can be heard praising the 22-year-old popular martyred youth leader, Burhan Wani.

Burhan Wani was martyred by the Indian troops in a fake encounter in Kokernag area of Islamabad district on July 8, 2016.

In the video, a youth addressing mourners described Wani as the true follower of Hazrat Imam Hussain (the grandson the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)) who was martyred in the plains of Karbala 1400 years ago. »

Srinagar, September 18 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, restrictions will be imposed in various parts of Srinagar tomorrow to prevent Muharram processions.

As per police handout restriction will be imposed in areas falling under the jurisdiction of Shaheed Gunj, Batamaloo, Shergari, Kothibagh, Ram Munshi Bagh, Maisuma, and Kral Khud police stations. »

Muhammad Yasin Malik addressing a religious gathering at Kathi Darwaza in Srinagar, today, said, “The resistance of the people of Jammu Kashmir is also a continuation of Karbala. No election till right to self-determination shall be our guiding principle.” »

Srinagar, September 18 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the paramedical students, today, staged a protest demonstration in Srinagar to push for the release of their classmate Muhammad Iqbal who was arrested by Indian police from Srinagar-Jammu highway on Thursday.

Holding placards reading ‘Release Iqbal’, ‘Iqbal is innocent’, ‘Where is the brother of 7 sisters’, the students assembled at the Press Enclave in Srinagar and chanted slogans in favor of Iqbal, a resident of Futlipora village in Pakherpora area of Budgam. »

Srinagar, September 18 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown is being observed on the fourth consecutive day, today, in Islamabad district to mourn the killing of a local youth, Rauf Ahmed Ganai.

Rauf Ganai was martyred by Indian troops by opening fire on protesters at Chowgam in Devsar area of Kulgam district on Saturday. He had received a bullet injury in his neck and died on the way when he was being shifted to a hospital in Srinagar.

All shops and other business establishments are shut in the main town, today, while traffic is thin on roads. »

Srinagar, September 18 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has strongly condemned the Indian authorities’ plan to shift thirteen political inmates, lodged in Mattan and other jails in Islamabad district, to the prisons outside the Kashmir Valley.

A JI spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar termed it an unwarranted move based on political bias and vengeance having no legal and moral justification. »

Jammu, September 18 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, after almost a year, a woman from Doda district of Chanab Valley has complained that an unidentified lady chopped off her braid in mysterious circumstances.

A woman, Manju Devi (31) wife of Kanchi Lal and a resident of Jattar village of Doda, said that an unknown woman entered her room while she was busy in painting. She said that the woman sprayed something and after few seconds she fell unconscious and when she woke up, she found her braid chopped. »

Srinagar, September 18 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, a delegation of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference led by APHC General Secretary, Ghulam Nabi Sumjhi, visited the residences of martyred youth in Kulgam and Islamabad to express solidarity with their family members.

Addressing mourners at Fatehpora and Aanchdora, the APHC leaders while paying tributes to the martyrs urged the Kashmiri people to completely boycott the upcoming election drama to safeguard the sacrifices of the martyrs. Other members of the delegation were Yasmeen Raja, Ghazi Manzoor, Arshad Ahmed, Aashiq Hussain and Sajjad Ahmed. »

Srinagar, September 18 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, several Muharram processions were taken out in different parts of the territory to pay rich tributes to Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and other martyrs of Karbala.

Thousands of mourners joined the processions in Bemina, Zorigund, Sonapa, Beerwah, Mir Behri, Kachi Kani, Baghwanpora, Mughal Mohalla, Zadibal, Shalimar, Cheng Mohalla, Chalpora, Gulshan Bagh, Malapora, Nowgam and other areas.

Addressing the mourners, Anjuman Sharie Shian President, Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi, said that Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) sacrificed his life for the glory of Islam. He condemned the killings in Kashmir and said that killing people and burning their properties by the Indian troops were not going to serve any purpose. He said Kashmir is a political issue that needs to be resolved through political means at the earliest. »
