Srinagar, October 11 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq-led Hurriyat forum has condemned the continued house arrest of the Mirwaiz and other Hurriyat leaders including Syed Ali Gilani.

The Hurriyat forum in a statement issued in Srinagar said barring Mirwaiz Umar Farooq from social, religious and political obligation is the violation of fundamental rights. »

Appreciates people for once again rejecting election drama

Srinagar, October 11 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Joint Resistance Leadership has said that people have again rejected the sham local bodies’ elections by staging boycott and observing protest shutdown during the second phase of the poll drama, yesterday.

The JRL comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “The only purpose behind this highly manipulated and authoritarian exercise is, as always, fudging facts and figures to sell to the outside world the myth of Indian democracy at work in J&K and people’s so-called participation in it, hence to push back the narrative of J&K’s disputed status and the need for its resolution.” »

Srinagar, October 11 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops have launched cordon and search operations in Kupwara and Baramulla districts.

The troops launched the operations at Shatgund Bala, Qalamabad and Shatgund in Handwara area of Kupwara and at Dangarpora in Sopore area of Baramulla. Several people were injured after Indian forces fired bullets and pellets on protesters in Qalamabad and Shatgund. »
