Martyrs’ sacrifices centre-staged Kashmir dispute

Srinagar, October 20 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik has strongly denounced the killing of a pregnant woman by Indian troops in Shadimarg area of Pulwama district.

The woman identified as Firdousa Akhtar wife of Khursheed Ahmed Sheikh was martyred when the troops resorted to indiscriminate firing, yesterday. An army camp was attacked by a grenade in the same area.

Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik in a joint statement issued in Srinagar said that India was resorting to the worst kind of brutalities to prolong its illegal hold on Jammu and Kashmir and suppress the Kashmiris’ just liberation struggle. »

Srinagar, October 20 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders, Engineer Hilal Ahmed War and Javaid Ahmed Mir, soon after their release from illegal detention, today, visited Feteh Kadal area of Srinagar and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family of a martyred youth, Merajuddin Bangroo.

Merajuddin Bangroo was killed along with two other youth by Indian troops during a cordon and search operation in Feteh Kadal on Wednesday. »

Srinagar, October 20 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the High Court Bar Association (HCBA) has denounced the brutal action of Indian troops of barging into the houses at Trichal in Pulwama and several thrashing the residents.

The HCBA in a meeting of its Executive Committee in Srinagar deplored that the Indian forces’ personnel also dragged many people from their homes, vandalized the household goods and damaged vehicles parked in and outside the houses. »

Srinagar, October 20 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the residents of downtown Srinagar have said that the frequent imposition of curfews in the area has severely affected people of all ages and professions.

A group of residents from Nowhatta told a local English daily Greater Kashmir that imposition of curbs in downtown is nothing new, but since the 2008 uprising, the successive regimes have made it like a compulsory feature to stop mass gatherings and protests. The worst-hit, the residents said, are once-bustling markets of Maharaj Gunj, Nowhatta, Gojwara, Hawal and Khanyar that have lost all sheen over the years. »

Srinagar, October 20 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement (JKSM), Zafar Akbar Butt, has denounced the thrashing of people including women and vandalizing of properties by Indian troops in Trichal area of Pulwama district.

Indian army personnel went berserk soon after an explosive improvised device hit an armoured vehicle while crossing a bridge on Trichal-Lassipora road, the other night. Several people including women were injured in the troops’ brutal actions against the locals. »

Srinagar, October 20 (KMS): Following harassment of Kashmiri students at Aligarh Muslim University and filing of sedition cases against two of them, the students from occupied Kashmir studying in various colleges in Indian Punjab have started returning home fearing harassment and arrest, saying police were profiling them.

The students and their parents told media that Punjab police had issued forms through college administrations to be filled by the Kashmiri students. »

Srinagar, October 20 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Hurriyat forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has said that India’s policy and approach towards the people of the territory is becoming more brutal and aggressive as almost every day Kashmiri youth are being killed and targeted ruthlessly.

The forum spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar strongly denounced the occupation authorities over the imposition of strict curfew across downtown and locking down of historic Jamia Masjid for second consecutive week and 15th time this year, disallowing the people to offer Juma prayers. “Hurting the religious sentiments of people of Kashmir time and again by barring congregational prayers at the Jamia Masjid is unacceptable,” he added. »
