JRL calls for march towards Kulgam tomorrow

Srinagar, October 23 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the authorities imposed stringent restrictions in Srinagar, today, to prevent a march towards Lal Chowk against the surge in killings and other repressive measures by the Indian forces.

Call for the march and a sit-in protest was given by the Joint Resistance Leadership to protest against the massacre of 10 youth including four teenagers by Indian troops at Laroo in Kulgam on Sunday. The authorities sealed off Lal Chowk by erecting barricades and placing razor wires on roads. Educational institutions were closed while internet services were snapped in many parts of the Valley. »

Srinagar, October 23 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, a massive march will be conducted towards Kulgam, tomorrow, to pay homage to the ten youth martyred by Indian troops in Laroo area on Sunday.

Call for the Kulgam march has been given by the Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik. The resistance leaders in a statement issued in Srinagar appealed to the people in general and those living in south Kashmir in particular to march to Kulgam tomorrow in solidarity with the families of the martyred youth. »

Srinagar, October 23 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry took out multiple protest marches at Raj Bagh and Regal Chowk in Srinagar, today, against the killing of ten youth by Indian troops in Kulgam on Sunday.

The spokesman for the KCCI in a statement issued in Srinagar said that despite restrictions, the members of the trade body tried to march towards the Lal Chowk. The Joint Resistance leadership had called for the march to register protest against the Kulgam killings. »

A large numbers of members of Kashmir Traders and Manufactures Federation (KTMF), led by trade leader, Muhammad Yasin Khan, took out a protest march through Residency Road in Srinagar. »

Srinagar, October 23 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders, Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik have paid rich tributes to the victims of Bijbehara massacre on their 25th martyrdom anniversary.

More than 50 civilians were killed and over 200 injured when Indian troops opened fire on protesters in Bijbehara area of Islamabad district on 22nd of October in 1993. They were protesting against the desecration of the Dargah Hazratbal, Srinagar, by the troops. »

Srinagar, October 23 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian police arrested Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Muhammad Yasin Malik along with several other Hurriyat leaders and activists to prevent them from leading a march towards Lal Chowk in Srinagar, today.

The Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was detained when he along with hundreds of supporters tried to march towards Lal Chowk, Srinagar, to participate in the sit-in protest called by the Joint Resistance Leadership against Kulgam killings and unabated state terrorism unleashed by Indian troops in every nook and corner of the territory. He was lodged in Nigeen Police Station. »

Srinagar, October 23 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian police arrested Mirwaiz of North Kashmir, Parray Hassan Firdousi during a raid on his house at Parampora in Srinagar.

Hassan Firdousi who is also an imam of Jamia Masjid at Kunzar in Tangmarg was arrested and lodged in local police station to prevent him from leading a march towards Lal Chowk in Srinagar. »
