Thousands attend funeral prayers of slain youth

Srinagar, November 10 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism martyred two more Kashmiri youth in Pulwama district, today.

The troops killed the youth, Liyaqat Ahmed Wani and Wajid-ul-Islam during a cordon and search operation in Tikken area of the district. The troops had killed another youth in Tral area of the same district, yesterday.

The killing of Liyaqat and Wajid led to massive anti-India demonstrations in main Pulwama town. Indian troops and police personnel fired teargas shells to disperse the demonstrators, triggering clashes between the protesters and the forces’ personnel. Complete shutdown was observed in Pulwama town, Tral and other areas of the district against the killing of the youth. »

Srinagar, November 10 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, thousands of people participated in the funeral prayers of two youth, Liyaqat Ahmed and Wajid-ul-Islam, who were martyred by Indian troops in Pulwama district, today.

Thousands of people assembled in the native Bellow and Babhar areas of Liyaqat Ahmed and Wajid-ul-Islam this afternoon after their dead bodies were handed over by Indian police to the families for final rites. »

Srinagar, November 10 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai has said that India cannot suppress the voice of people through use of brute force.

Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai in a statement issued in Srinagar strongly condemned slapping of draconian law, Public Safety Act (PSA), on youth including Shahid Ahmed Tantray, Waseem Meraaj, Suhail Ahmed Sheikh, Muhammad Umar Dar, Parvaiz Ahmed Shah, Abdul Ahad Reshi, Mushtaq Ahmed Shah, Mudassir Ahmed Dar, Muhammad Yasin Butt and Bilal Ahmed Lone and shifting them to Hiranagar and Kathua jails in Jammu. »

Srinagar, November 10 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC), Syed Ali Gilani and other Hurriyat leaders and organizations have paid glorious tributes to the youth martyred by Indian troops during cordon and search operations in Pulwama.

Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Indian authorities were responsible for the unabated bloodshed in the territory. He said that the youth spilled their hot blood for the sacred cause and the entire Kashmir was indebted to the martyrs for their sacrifices. »

Srinagar, November 10 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference has strongly condemned the house raids and arrests of youth by Indian police and troops across the territory.

The APHC in a statement issued in Srinagar said that physical torture by Indian police and paramilitary personnel could not intimidate the Kashmiri people into submission. It said Indian armed men in uniform in the territory are the ultimate authority to decide one’s fate and they willfully and revengefully harass and humiliate the common people. »

Srinagar, November 10 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Tehreek-e-Wahdat-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir has expressed serious concern over the deteriorating health of its illegally detained party Chairman, Nisar Hussain Rathar, at Kot Bhalwal jail in Jammu and demanded his immediate release.

Tehreek-e-Wahdat-e-Islami in a meeting held in Srinagar condemned the brutalities of Indian forces and said that killing of innocent people had become a routine in the occupied territory. »

Srinagar, November 10 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Muhammad Yasin Malik has said the mass boycott of civic polls has unnerved New Delhi and the people will also reject the upcoming Panchayat polls in the territory.

Muhammad Yasin Malik addressing a gathering in Srinagar deplored that ever since elections had been held in Kashmir, the Indian government had been projecting the participation of people as a referendum in its favour before the world community. »

Srinagar, November 10 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, a seminar commemorating the poet of East, Allama Muhammad Iqbal, was held at the University of Kashmir in Srinagar under the auspices of Iqbal Institute of Culture.

The vice-chancellor of the University, Prof Talat Ahmed, in his presidential address said that the thought and philosophy of Iqbal was relevant for all times to come and more work needed to be done to make the young generation aware about his contribution and his universal vision which transcended all barriers of geography and language. »

Srinagar, November 10 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Islami Tanzeem-e-Azadi Jammu and Kashmir has said that the Indian police on Friday night raided the residence of party Chairman, Abdul Samad Inqilabi, in Pattan area of Baramulla district and vandalized the household goods.

A spokesman of Islami Tanzeem-e-Azadi in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the police conducted the raid during the intervening night of November 9 and 10 when Abdul Samad Inqilabi was not at home. He said that the party chairman was released a few days ago from the illegal detention. The spokesman strongly denounced the police action, terming it as the worst example of state terrorism. »
