Srinagar, December 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has termed the human rights situation as grim and urged the United Nations to take note of ground situation in Kashmir by sending a high-level team to the Valley.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, who was released from house detention an hour before Friday prayers, addressing Friday gathering at the historic Jamia Masjid in Srinagar, “We have already welcomed the UNHRC report on human rights situation in Kashmir but it is time that a team be sent to Kashmir for spot inspection of the situation.” »

Srinagar, December 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the High Court Bar Association (HCBA) on the call of Joint Resistance Leadership held a protest demonstration at the High Court Complex in Srinagar, today, against the continued human rights violations by Indian troops.

The HCBA members raised slogans demanding end to human rights violations in occupied Kashmir by Indian forces. They appealed to the international community to impress upon India to stop its state terrorism in the occupied territory. »

JRL calls for shutdown in poll-bound areas tomorrow

Srinagar, December 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, people including Hurriyat leaders, activists and lawyers staged forceful demonstrations in Srinagar and other areas, today, in connection with the ongoing Human Rights Week to draw attention of the world community towards the gross human rights violations by Indian troops in the territory.

The Human Rights Week commenced on 3rd of December will continue till 9th December on the call of Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik.

Scores of people including Hurriyat leaders and activists held demonstrations in Nowhatta, Hyderpora, Maisuma, Lal Chowk, and other localities of Srinagar and in Baramulla and Pulwama areas after Friday prayers, today. »

Srinagar, December 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik has called for shutdown in poll-bound areas in the 8th phase of Panchayat elections tomorrow.

The JRL in a joint statement issued in Srinagar asked people to observe complete shutdown in Hyhama, Kupwara, Hajin, Nadihal, Narwah, Boniyar, Qamarwari, B KPora, Narbal, Achgooze, Pampore, Imam Sahib and Qaimoh. »

Srinagar, December 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) has said that the party leaders and activists held candlelight protests in Srinagar and Budgam against the gross human rights violations by Indian troops in the territory.

A JKLF spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that in connection with the ongoing Human Rights Week, a number of candle light protests were held in different areas of the Kashmir Valley. People at several places including Old City, Nawa Kadal, Chatabal Veer and Bemina Crossing in Srinagar and at Hakarmulla in Budgam assembled and staged candle light protests against the rights abuses by the troops, he added. »

Says even peaceful candle light vigil, sit-ins eye-sore for rulers

Srinagar, December 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Hurriyat forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, has strongly denounced the massive crackdown by the occupation authorities on pro-freedom leaders, activists and trade bodies’ representatives across the territory.

A spokesman for the Hurriyat forum in a statement issued in Srinagar deplored that even holding peaceful candle light vigil and sit-in had become an eye-sore for the rulers. He said that it was highly condemnable that the people including political leaders and activists taking part in Human Rights Week (being observed from December 3 to December 9) were arrested and lodged in jails and police stations. »

Brussels, December 07 (KMS): The All-Party Parliamentary Group on Kashmir in the European Parliament (APGK-EP) hosted a conference on “Kashmir – Human Rights, Conflict Resolution”.

The organisers included MEP Julie Ward and MEP Klaus Buchner in association with International Human Rights Association of American Minorities(IHRAAM), International Commission for Human Rights (ICHR), South Asian Centre for Peace and Human Rights (SACPHR) and Kashmir Youth Assembly, UK Europe.

The event was held in connection with the celebration of International Human Rights Day on December 10, 2018. »

Srinagar, December 07 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League (JKPL) has strongly condemned the arrest of party chairman, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, and other Hurriyat leaders.

A JKML spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that police on Friday arrived at the residence of Mukhtar Ahmed Waza and placed him under detention.

The spokesman termed the arrest of party chairman and other resistance leaders as highly undemocratic actions and acts of political vendetta.
