Gilani wants un report discussed in UNGA, UNSC

Srinagar, December 11 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Joint Resistance Leadership has urged the UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, to constitute a Commission of Inquiry to conduct comprehensive and independent investigation into the human rights violations by Indian troops in the territory.

The leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik through a letter asked Antonio Guterres to initiate measures for the resolution of the dispute which is on the UN Agenda since 1948, and is the main cause of all human rights violations in occupied Kashmir. »

Srinagar, December 11 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani has called for tabling the UN report on human rights violations in the occupied territory for discussion both in General Assembly as well the Security Council of the United Nations.

Syed Ali Gilani while addressing a seminar in Islamabad, Pakistan, through videoconference said, Kashmir is a long-pending issue awaiting the final dispensation in accordance with the agreed UN resolutions. He said Kashmir is neither any territorial conflict nor a border dispute, but a humanitarian issue concerning the future of more than 15 million people of Jammu and Kashmir. »

Srinagar, December 11 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, mother of illegally detained Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front-R (JKLF-R), Farooq Ahmed Dar, passed away, today, at her Suthra Shahi residence in Srinagar after brief illness.

Hundreds of people including resistance leaders and activists participated in her funeral prayers. She was laid to rest at her native Suthra Shahi graveyard in Srinagar. »

Srinagar, December 11 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, three Indian policemen were killed in an attack in Shopian district, today.

The policemen were killed when unidentified gunmen attacked a police party in Zainapora area of the district. The attackers also snatched away the weapons from the police personnel.

Meanwhile, a civilian was killed after he stepped over a landmine planted by Indian troops at Pritampura in Krishna Ghati area of Poonch district.

All shops and business establishments are closed while traffic is off the road. »

Srinagar, December 11 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, speakers at a day-long seminar in Srinagar said that India has made the entire population of Jammu and Kashmir hostage at gunpoint.

The seminar was organized by Awami Ittihad Party Chairman Engineer Abdur Rasheed in connection with the world Human Rights Day. The speakers said India treats Kashmir like its colony and must give up its colonial mindset. »

Srinagar, December 11 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Tehreek-e-Hurriyat (TeH) Jammu and Kashmir Chairman, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai has appealed to the UN to take all possible steps to resolve the Kashmir dispute as per the relevant resolutions of the World Body.

Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “We urge the United Nations Secretary General to uphold his mandate and take all possible measures to ensure the safety and well-being of the Kashmiris and fulfill his responsibilities by resolving the 71-year-old Kashmir conflict that has inflicted pain, agony, and injustice on a large scale.” »

Srinagar, December 11 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, a book written by Kashmir Tehreek-e-Khawateen Chairperson, Anjum Zamruda Habib, was launched at a ceremony in Srinagar.

The book ‘Nigah-e-Anjum’, which is basically the autobiography of Zamruda Habib, also carries an account of sufferings of the Kashmiri people. »

JRL’s letter seeks measures for settlement of Kashmir dispute

Srinagar, December 11 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Joint Resistance Leadership in a letter to the UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, has urged him to constitute a Commission of Inquiry to conduct comprehensive and independent international investigation into human rights violations by Indian troops in the territory.

The Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik in a statement issued in Srinagar asked the UN Secretary General to impress upon New Delhi to stop the gross human rights violation forthwith. The JRL, as per the letter, also urged him to initiate measures for the resolution of the dispute which is on the UN Agenda since 1948, and is the main cause of all Human Rights violations in occupied Kashmir. »

Thousands attend funeral of teenagers

Islamabad, December 10 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops, in their unabated acts of state terrorism, martyred 95,238 innocent Kashmiris, including 7,120 in custody, since January 1989 till date.

A report released by the Research Section of Kashmir Media Service on the occasion of the World Human Rights Day, today, revealed that these killings rendered 22,894 women widowed and 107,551 children orphaned. The troops molested or disgraced 11,107 women and damaged 109,191 residential houses and other structures. At least, 8,000 people were subjected to custodial disappearance.

The report pointed out that during this year alone, Indian forces martyred 350 Kashmiris including PhD scholars, an engineering student, teenagers and Hurriyet leaders and activists. The forces arrested 2,348 people including minor boys and women. »
