The Hurriyat forum spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was detained to be prevented from taking part in candlelight vigil against human rights violations in Kashmir. »

Srinagar, December 03 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, political parties from across the aisle have raised their voice against Governor Satyapal Malik’s efforts to grant the citizenship to outsiders by changing the process of granting Permanent Resident Certificate in the territory.

Srinagar, December 03 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian forces used live ammunition against protesters in Shopian district, today.

Indian forces fired bullets, pellets, PAVA and teargas shells on the people who took to the streets against the violent cordon and search operation jointly conducted by Indian army’s 34 Rashtriya Rifles, Central Reserve Police Force and Special Operation Groups at Sangran Imam Sahib area of the district. The forces also attempted to destroy a house in the area.

Meanwhile, authorities also suspended internet services and blocked all roads of the district.

Srinagar, December 02 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Joint Resistance Leadership has urged the international community, Amnesty International, Asia Watch, United Nations Human Rights Council and International Committee of Red Cross to take note of the worst kind of oppression unleashed by Indian forces in the territory.

The leadership in a joint statement issued in Srinagar said, the repression in Kashmir has a parallel in what is happening in Palestine, as India takes cue from Israel in new forms of repression. The statement added that tens of thousands of Indian troops deployed in Kashmir were engaged in killing of youth with impunity in the garb of infamous cordon and search operations, conducted on daily basis.
