Srinagar, February 01 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, thousands of people, today, participated in the last rites of the two youth martyred by Indian troop in Pulwama district, today.

The youth identified as Shahid Ahmad and Inayat Ahmad were killed during a cordon and search operation launched by the troops at Drabgam in the district. The troops also razed to rubble a residential house during the operation.

Braving snowfall and restrictions, thousands of people thronged Drabgam and Arihal villages in the district, the native places of the two martyrs, and participated in their last rites. According to witnesses, 11 back to back funeral prayers were held for the martyred youth to accommodate the huge rush of mourners. Some Hurriyat leaders also participated in the funerals and addressed the gatherings on the occasion. »

18 Kashmiris martyred in January

Srinagar, February 01 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops in their fresh act of terrorism, martyred two youth in Pulwama district, today.

The youth identified as Shahid Ahmad and Inayat Ahmad were killed during a cordon and search operation launched by the troops at Drabgam in the district. The troops also razed to rubble a residential house during the operation. Srinagar, February 01 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops, in their unabated acts of state terrorism, martyred 18 Kashmiris during the last month of January.

According to the data issued by the Research Section of Kashmir Media Service, today, these killings rendered two women widowed and two children orphaned.

As many as 126 people were injured due to the use of brute force and firing of bullets, pellets and teargas shells by the Indian troops and police personnel against mourners and peaceful protesters while 93 civilians including Hurriyat leaders and activists were arrested during the month.

Indian forces’ personnel also destroyed four residential houses during the period.

Islamabad, February 01 (KMS): The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter held a meeting in Islamabad with its Convener, Saiyyed Abdullah Gilani in chair.

The meeting took place at the chapter’s Islamabad office, yesterday, and it was attended by representatives of the constituents of APHC-AJK chapter. The participants of the meeting discussed the prevailing grim situation in occupied Kashmir. It also talked about the Kashmir Solidarity Day that Pakistan observes on February 5 every year to pay tributes to the Kashmiris’ sacrifices and highlight their struggle for securing their right to self-determination. »
