Islamabad, February 02 (KMS): The President of London-based Jammu and Kashmir Council for Human Rights (JKCHR), Dr Nazir Gilani, has said that India accused Pakistan of engineering a revolt in Kashmir in January 1948 and since 1990 New Delhi has upgraded its narrative and accuses Pakistan of sponsoring terrorism in Kashmir. The phrase ‘engineering a revolt’ has been replaced by a new accusation of ‘sponsoring terrorism’ into Kashmir. »

Srinagar, February 02 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, three persons died after they were swept away along with a bulldozer they were in when an avalanche hit Pahalgam-Aru road.

A bulldozer that was in the area to clear the road up to Aru village came under an avalanche.

The bulldozer plunged into a deep gorge along with three persons of which two died on the spot while the third one expired when he was being shifted to a hospital. »

Srinagar, February 02 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the authorities have beefed up the so-celled security measures in Srinagar and other areas ahead of Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s visit to the territory tomorrow (Sunday).

The occupation authorities have deployed Indian police and troops in strength in Srinagar, Jammu and other areas. The troops and police personnel conducted a security drill in the Lal Chowk area of Srinagar, causing huge inconvenience to the people. They used drones fitted with cameras and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) for surveillance and conducted area mapping to keep watch on the movement of the people. The forces’ personnel have erected checkpoints at various locations in the city. »

New Delhi, February 02 (KMS): In order to further its military ambitions, India has set aside an outlay of Rs 3.05 lakh crore for the defence budget for 2019-20.

Indian Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs, Piyush Goyal, presenting an interim budget for 2019-20 in Parliament, said that the defence budget was increased by around Rs 20,000 crore compared to allocation of Rs 2.85 lakh crore in the current fiscal year.

He said additional funds, if necessary, would be provided to secure the country’s borders and maintain defence preparedness. »
