The APHC Chairman condemned the arrest of nine youth during overnight raids in two villages Arigam and Arihal of Pulwama district. “Through its forces New Delhi has crossed all the limits of brutality and savagery in Kashmir as killings, arrests, torture and detention of people regardless of age and gender have become a routine ploy to make the people surrender before Delhi’s might,” he said.

The octogenarian leader expressed his grave concern over the rampant use of oppressive and suppressive measures by the Indian forces during the cordon and search operations in villages of Pulwama wherein nine youth were detained. “During the search operations in Arigam and Arihal villages of Pulwama, people were forced to stay outdoors during shivering cold night. Living under the shadow of a war-like situation has created panic and an agonizing atmosphere in almost all the villages of south Kashmir,” he added.

Syed Ali Gilani said people are thrashed, beaten, humiliated without any reason by the occupational forces who have unleashed a reign of terror in every nook and corner of the territory particularly in Pulwama, Shopian, Islamabad and Kulgam districts.
